*i got my hair done so that's why these are late. Sorry
"I'm stressed out." I huffed as I looked through all of the colors. Bev and I were shopping for any signs of a dress we would like for the dance.
"I think I want some patterns." Beverly said from one side of a rack. After a good day and a half of arguing Richie and I have decided on letting me decided on a color. Richie did have some conditions though in his words it 'can't be girly, pink, or make me look like a jackass'. One of the many times I've called Richie an idiot was that day, speaking of, his cousins had come to visit.
Well, Richie's uncle just got a new car and wanted to show it off to his brother and his family. Richie isn't as excited as he was the last time, you see, Richie had just gained a new cousin; his aunt had a baby 3 months ago. Richie said that the new baby was cool cause he laughed at his voices and faces, but he didn't like all of the poop and spit up. On the plus side Richie's parents, Aunt, and uncle were leaving for the night and he wanted this time for me to go to his house. I just think his cousins have pushed him to his breaking point.
"I want something simple, something that stands out cause it isn't too flashy." I said as I looked at all of the dresses with solid colors.
"Elegant?" She simplified my description. I nodded at her and pulled a black dress off the rack. I liked it, it wasn't too much, and I think Richie would enjoy not wearing anything flashy.
I showed the dress to Bev, "it looks nice." She said. I looked at myself in a full body mirror on display and frowned. I would have to squeeze in this and never sit down. I put the dress back and looked in the racks again.
"So what do your parents think of Richie?" She asked as from one side of the same rack I was looking on.
"They like him," I nodded, "I just think that my dad liked him more as my friend instead of my boyfriend." I shrugged as I pulled up an orange dress to show her, she frowned and shook her head making my discard the arrival of clothing.
"Boyfriend?" She asked me with a quirked eyebrow. I shrugged and smiled but looked down to try and hide it. Lowering myself to hide my face behind the clothes. She pushed the clothes down the middle to see me.
She gave me a look as if to say 'explain', so I did, "he didn't say, but you can feel it, ya know? Like, it just goes without saying."
"Is he your first boyfriend?" She asked as I held up another dress to which she shook her head at.
"Yeah, he's my first everything. First kiss, first boyfriend..." I trailed off, she smiled at me as she held up a dress and I nodded at it, she added it to the other 2 dresses she thought of as I possibility.
"First love?" She asked me, I shrugged and rolled my eyes with a loving smile gracing my lips.
"We're kids, we're young," I said pulling out a dress and looked at it as I spoke, "besides, Richie's afraid of commitment, I've seen him not go outside for 3 hours once because he didn't know which pair of socks to wear, even though they all look the same."
