the beginning

As the campers are heading back to camp. Talking about their various successes or failures. However something like a mini cloud forms in front of Chiron. An Iris message. The Romans had begun using this too

"Reyna. Frank. You're always a welcome sight. However, this is not simply to catch up is it?"

Reyna shakes her head "This is a simple warning. The lares have been agitated recently, it reminds me of when Percy arrived but we have no new recruits."

"I see... my thanks for informing us, we shall keep an eye out for spiritual presence."

As the message ends the campers keep walking back to dining area but now the main topic is about the strange behavior of the lares

Just as the the mood was calming down again around the tables, Karna sees a a camper from the Hecate table staring at him. He had seen her before but something about her feels different, almost familiar now...

Then suddenly just as he's looking away she makes her move. He falls backwards from his seat. It's just in time to avoid the thrown knife.

He sees the girl at the Hecate table being restrained. He had noticed her before too. She never seemed to stick with the crowd. As he watches she seems to calm down suddenly, again it's almost like she's a different person. "It's Peregrine in control now." sparks flicker around her fingers. Seeming to take this as confirmation they loosen their grip, though he notes they don't completely release her

The reason for this is soon shown as she collapses. Or would have if she wasn't being held up.

"What just happened to her?" Karna ask as one of the Apollo campers helps him up

"Her? Oh she's a ghost expert, let's them posses her and such. None of the campers outside of the Hecate cabin really know much but I've heard that aside from her talent for beneficial possessions, borrowing the power of now dead heroes and such, she used to get possessed hostilely as well. Maybe the spiritual clash that just occurred in her was draining."

"Hm..."

Karna decides to visit her later. When she's well enough to speak. For now though he finishes his meal with the rest of the campers, mostly in silence.
