Icefrost stared around the nearly-empty camp. Elmfall basked in the new-leaf sunshine, Spiderstar was standing atop the Duskledge, and Sandfall was drying herbs from last night's rain. \When are we ever going to become a full Clan again?\ It had been several days since the death of Leapstar, and the exile of those who chose to follow her. \Including my own parents.\ Icefrost thought of Newtskip, she would see him at the Gathering tonight. She could still feel his warm presence next to her, even though he lived in another Clan. Icefrost padded out of camp, hoping to catch some prey. She dropped into a crouch when she spotted a crow resting on a branch, it's eyes were closed. \Easy catch!\ Icefrost leaped, biting the bird's neck in thin air before it could even see her. She landed on all four paws with the crow hanging limp in her jaws. She buried it and continued the hunt. Suddenly, she caught sight of Newtskip padding up to her, his tail in the air. "Newtskip?" Icefrost trotted over to him, she brushed against him, " I crossed over the border when I saw you hunting so that I could see you. " he purred, "Do you want to hunt together?" Icefrost nodded. " Of course. " They sniffed the air, Newtskip seemed to have found something because he had dropped into a hunting crouch. Icefrost noticed that he was stalking a vole. Wiggling his rear, Newtskip pounced, but the vole dashed away into some heather, with Newtskip diving in behind it. There was a pain-filled squeal, and Newtskip came out, his catch hanging in his mouth. He dropped it at Icefrost's paws, "Take it back to your camp." he said. " No, you caught it. You should have it. " She argued, "No. I insist. I caught it on your territory, so it belongs to your Clan." Icefrost didn't say anything more, she just picked up the vole and blushed. " I'd better go. " Newtskip said, "My Clan will be looking for me." he brushed his cheek against Icefrost's, and she felt her face turn hot with love. "I love you, Newtskip." She purred, " I love you too, Icefrost. And that will never change. I promise." he purred back.
