Pineleaf felt her fur ruffle with affection as her brother padded into camp after meeting Icefrost. \They looked so cute together before we left to defeat Leapstar!\ She thought, Newtskip had a joyful expression on his face. His eyes sparkled with happiness in the new-leaf sunlight. Pineleaf watched as Mosspaw eyed him curiously, \What? You've never seen a cat happy before? Keep your eyes away from my brother, heartbreaker!\ she teased the medicine cat apprentice inside her head. She gave Mosspaw a 'mind your own business' glare, and the she-cat turned heel and walked back into the medical den. Newtskip laid down beside Pineleaf, a smile still sticking to his face like tree sap. "Someone's in a good mood." Pineleaf giggled, Newtskip rolled his eyes and nudged her on the shoulder. Playfully, Pineleaf nudged him back, and they went back and forth, poking and pushing each other like two kits. \He's a lot more fun to hang out with, and a lot less serious than when he was younger. I guess I owe Icefrost a thanks for that.\ Gooseflight padded by, looking at them with joy in her eyes. "Okay kits," She teased, " Go back to the nursery. " Newtskip and Pineleaf burst out laughing. That reminded Pineleaf that Mouseheart had Ripplewind's kits not long ago. Owlkit, Cedarkit, and Gullkit, there toms. Pineleaf stopped wrestling with her brother and glanced over to where the three kits were playing Foxes. She laughed as Gullkit batted Cedarkit with bare paws, and Owlkit played with his brother's tail like it was a mossball. The sun began to sink over the horizon, and Pineleaf let out a yawn, following her brother over to the entrance of the warriors den. Just as she was about to go in, she swore she caught sight of Seedspots's spirit, her eyes gleaming with pride.
