My Dear Ancestor,

32 7 2

Your tombstone it does stand alone,
On this field of grass so green.
The name and date are chiseled out,
For our whole world to see.

It reaches out to all that care,
For tis never to late for us all to mourn.
Although I never knew you existed,
You lived so long before I was born!

Yet, we are one, yes you and I,
In flesh and blood and bone.
Our blood in our hearts beat as one,
Entirely on our own!

Oh my ancestor, the life you once lived,
Thousands of years long ago!
Spread out amongst the stars and sky,
And I believe they would have loved you so!

I wonder not, if you lived and loved,
I wonder not if you knew?
That I would cross over your grave today,
To find your spot, and come visit you!

As Ever,
