Miles's POV
My mom got a new job so I had to switch schools. I saw Natalie today. She was still as beautiful as I remember. She bumped into me and I realized who it was and we talked a little. Her blue eyes sparkled the way they always did. I remember when we were in 8th grade, our class had a field trip to the ice-rink and we held hands. We were just best friends, but I started to like her more then that so I ended up giving her a small, warm kiss while we were skating.
She texted me a couple days ago and so I guess we're going to the mall tomorrow. I really liked her.
I began unpacking the rest of my things and found an old picture book. I remember making this with Natalie! The front cover read "#besties4eva!!" and was decorated with little kisses and hearts (her choice). I began to flip through it. There were so many pictures of old memories. I smiled and put inside a dresser drawer.
It was around 7pm and I was bored. I decided to text Natalie.
"Hey. I'm bored. Wanna chill?"
-me
"Sure! I have to finish eating. Remember where I live?"
-Natty xox
"Of course:) Be there in an hour!"

I laid on my bed and stared up at the ceiling. My mom walked in.
"Hey. Whatcha up to?" she asked.
"Me and Natalie are gonna hang out in a bit," I smiled.
"Oh! You saw her at school?" she smiled back. She always thought of Natalie as a sweet girl.
"Yeah!" I said.
"Cool! Do you like her?" my mom smirked.
"...Erm, no," I blushed awkwardly.
"Yes you do," she smirked again. Before I could protest, she walked out with a smile on her face.
Natalie's POV
I finished eating and went up into my room. I fixed my hair by putting half of it up with a white bow. I wand curled it, leaving loose waves. I put on a baby-blue colored button down blouse and my black high wasted shorts.
Miles texted me and asked if we wanted to hang out earlier. Of course I said yes! I really hoped that we would become as good of friends as we used to be.
A while later, I heard a knock on my bedroom door. I opened it and gave Miles a hug. He smiled and I pulled away. He eyed me up and down. I giggled.
We walked out and got into his car. He opened the door for me.
"So, where are we going?" I asked.
"Surprise..." He smirked.

We got to the park and there were tons of people here.
"Miles, you know I hate people," I said.
"Don't worry, there's a little secret spot I know," he said.
"Oh..." I said getting out of his car.
I followed him around a bunch of trees into an ally way. There was graffiti all over and even a condom wrapper on the ground.
"This is the ghetto," I laughed.
He noticed the condom and laughed. "Eww!" He screamed.
I cracked up. "How do I know it's not yours?" I smirked.
He laughed again. "I am a virgin," he smiled proudly.
"Ok now shut up, we might get mobbed," I said sarcastically.
We continued to walk until there was a fence with a large hole in it. He grabbed my hand and helped me through. We avoided garbage cans and walked around more alleyways until we got to a larger fence. On the other side was a small grass area with a little pond.
"How do we get over there?" I asked.
"Climb the fence, dipshit," he said.
"Ugh. Everything is always so complicated!" I complained.
He laughed. He climbed over and helped me over, too. We went over and sat down. The sun was setting, making the sky a pinkish purple color.
"Remember that one time where we were trying to sneak into my house in 7th grade after going to a midnight party, and you put in the wrong code to the garage and the alarm went off? And then you peed your pants and you had to hide in my closet while I acted asleep?" He asked.
I laughed. "Of course! Hey, remember when-"
We talked about our old memories. Some sad, some happy, and some funny.
There was a long silence. He looked like he was about to say something, but stopped.
"Just say it," I said.
He looked at me surprised. Then blushed. "Ok, well, remember when we kissed in 8th grade?"
I nodded.
"...Well, did you like it?" he asked nervously.
I laughed a little to hard, making me let out a slight snort. He smiled.
"You're so awkward," I said still laughing a little. "But yes, I did like our kiss. Did you?" I asked.
"Well, yeah. I mean, I kissed you. So obviously," he said.
"What time is it?" I asked after a long, awkward silence.
"Uh... it's 10pm," he said.
"Oh, wow!" I said.
We walked back and he drove us to his house. I called my mom, telling her I was spending the night at Miles's house. She agreed.
***
We watched some old movies. First we watched The Goonies and we fell asleep during Greece. I already knew I had my best friend back. I think I liked him more, though. I didn't really want to think of that right now. I just wanted to think that I fell asleep watching a classic, in my best guy-friends arms.
