Pulling her knees to her chest, Finley rested her lips against her arm watching Bucky as he slept. The man was out cold, arm outstretched to where she used to be laying, head tilted to the side, and the loose strand of hair tickling his nose as the soft snore echoed around the room.
With a smile, she reached forward brushing it out of his face.
Heartbreak hurt worse than anything else, and she felt terrible for the moment Bucky was going to have to experience it. She should have never came into his life, she should have just kept walking that day he found her on the pathway. Then neither of them would have known her, she wouldn't have been a part of this, and he wouldn't end up hurt in the end like he was going to.
"I'm so sorry." Finley whispered feeling the tear fall down her cheek and onto the bed beside her.
He needed to be asleep for what she was going to do next. So, smiling one more time at his steady muscular chest, her hand slipped a way from his as she rose to her feet.
Then, she took her place on the floor and immediately went to work. Before her, was the one thing that she had from her childhood. Jack had sent it to her, how he got up the fire escape she didn't know. However, it all worked out in the end. The box was all she needed. It was enough to prove the point that she wanted to.

Leaning against the jet, Finley bit her lip and crossed her arms. They had loaded their supplies quickly and were shipping out any second. Steve and Bucky were by her side just like always- both lost in their own conversation beside her.
Bucky would send her looks every now and again. He was confused as to why she was missing from the bed this morning, and she had responded with a simple "I couldn't sleep."
It was true though. Finley didn't really have the interest in such a thing right now.
"Alright." Howard smiled entering the scene. "Time to move out."
The other five members of the team were the first to board Stark's jet. Soon, Steve and Buck were moving onto the deck as well. Finley's eyes however rested on Peggy. She was standing on her own, eyes scanning the control panel ahead of her.
This was a routine assignment. Hydra was transporting supplies on the train through the mountainous range of Germany. Their job was to infiltrate the cart and disable any weapons they came across thanks to Stark's technology.
So, to say that Peggy wasn't very concerned would be true.
"Carter." Finley approached the woman.
This made her spin in fear. "Reaser? Aren't you supposed to be on that plane."
"Yeah. I am, but ugh-" She scratched the back of her head. "I just wanted to say thank you."
"Thank you?"
"For everything. You know? For believing in Steve, for coming to tell me about the experiment, just for- taking care of him." This made Peggy's face soften immediately. "He likes you Peggy, and you'd be an idiot not to move in." Peggy shutdown in shock. "I know you like him to, so o me a favor- and just talk to him about it. I think you'll find out just who he really is." Slowly, following Howard's call, Finley began walking backwards towards the jet. "His favorite food is pancakes, he hates the cold, loves his country, and has the biggest heart you will ever meet. I love the kid Peggy-" Turning to face the jet, she yelled over the engine so Carter could here. "-an I know you do too!"
Once on the entrance to the plane, Bucky took her side guiding her up the walkway.
All Peggy could do was watch her friend go, a smile on those crooked lips of hers. Something was off about Finley, she could see it right away. However, soon enough she was blinded by the thoughts Reaser had put into her head. Did she love Steve? Honestly?
