Next time I saw him was at the summer festival a couple of days later. His father had been out on a business trip and I guess he took MinKyu with him. I saw the multiple bruises on his arms and neck... but I didn't say anything right away. His smile looked kind of forced to me. The only thing I could manage to do was pull him into a hug. I guess I did the right thing because he buried his face into the crook of my neck and began to silently cry.
"You okay?" I asked.
MinKyu sniffled and pulled away. "Yeah."
I had my suspicions about what might've happened. Mostly based on what had happened back at the office a while ago. The festival was going to end soon and I didn't want to send him back there.. not knowing what was going to happen.
"Come with me."
MinKyu gave me a surprised look. "What?"
"I said, come with me."
I held my hand out for him to take. "Take my hand and come with me. I'm sure you don't wanna go back."
He nodded.
I quickly grasped his hand and led him out of the festival gates.
"Wait my dad'll kill me-"
"You don't have to worry."
