"I promise I'll protect you Park MinKyu."

Jason rushed around the house, shoving things in a bag and tossing MinKyu clothes.

"What're you doing?" MinKyu asked slowly.

He paused."We're leaving."

It made MinKyu angry that Jason thought he couldn't protect himself.
"I can protect myself Jason, I don't need you."

This made Jason stop and turn to him. "Yes you do."

"No I don't!"

Jason grew furious, trying to calm himself. "Fine, then I need you. We'll protect each other. I don't think you're weak and I don't want to lose you."

MinKyu shut up at this point and began to pack. "Where are we going?"

Jason pulled out a large envelope containing emergency money he had stashed a while back and shoved it into his bag. "My aunt's."

MinKyu nodded silently, deciding to trust Jason. "Can't we just tell the police?"

"And get you sent back to your father? No way."

Jason turned to MinKyu, grabbing him by the shoulders. "Park MinKyu, you're the only person I really care about, just trust me on this."

He did trust Jason. He didn't ever doubt him one bit. He just wondered... why does he care so much?

"Why."

"What do you mean." Jason said.

"Why do you care so much about what happens to me."

"Because you're about the only person who's ever gave a damn about me, and I'd like to return the favor." Jason whispered, pulling Minkyu into a hug.

MinKyu hugged Jason tight, smiling at how warm his words sounded and how his heart fluttered slightly. The same was true about Jason. Even though he was popular, no one ever really took a second look at him. No one ever bothered to look past his good-looks. He felt safe in Jason's arms. If it weren't for him, he'd still be with his father. Jason saved him multiple times, and he was grateful for that.

"Thank you."

Jason nodded and pulled away from the hug. "Do you have everything you need?"

"Yeah, should we get some food?"

"I already grabbed some." Jason answered, lifting up his bag so he could see.

"How are we gonna get there? Didn't your parents have the only car?"

"Well... not exactly."
