15 sunrises later...
"Finally, the day of the gathering," Woodpool mewed to Leafpaw. "We will know who are the three chosen cats from Waterclan!"
"Yeah, whatever," Leafpaw mumbled without lifting up her head. "I don't really care anyway."
Woodpool bit back a sharp retort and replied, "Okay, I hope Greenstar will let us go to the gathering."
A tear dropped from Leafpaw's eye, "Petalpaw never went to a gathering before..."
She's still mourning for Petalpaw. Woodpool thought as he licked Leafpaw along the ear to comfort her.
"Hey! I'm not a kit!" Leafpaw mewed, startled. "Get out!"
"Okay then," Woodpool answered. "Just don't do anything stupid. It's less than an hour before the gathering."
"And don't forget, you will be closer to Petalpaw there!" Woodpool added.
"All the warriors and apprentices will go to the gathering," Greenstar mewed. "And that includes Littleclaw."
The cats nodded their heads.
"Okay then, Plantclan, go!" Greenstar said.
Woodpool glanced at Leafpaw, who was suprising happy. Hmm... she changed her feelings fast.
"Come on, Leafpaw!" he shouted as he began padding towards the flat-stones with the warriors.
"Coming!" Leafpaw meowed back.
Finally, they reached the flat-stones. The Waterclan cats were already there. Woodpool saw Splishclaw there the stones and headed towards him.
"Hi, Splishclaw!" Woodpool greeted him. Splishclaw turned his head around.
"Hi!" Splishclaw replied back. "So how's your apprentice...Leafpaw, right?"
"Um, her sister, Petalpaw, died mysteriously," Woodpool mumbled. " Did Waterclan take her as prisoner?"
"What? Of course not!" Splishclaw replied with amusement in his eyes. "Anyway, you should help your apprentice, she looks kind of...confused."
Bidding goodbye to Splishclaw, Woodpool padded towards Leafpaw who was staring at the stones inside the Flat-stones.
"So, how is it?" Woodpool asked her.
"W-where am I suppose to sit?" Leafpaw asked hesitantly.
"Well, the stones are put into three levels," Woodpool explained confidently.. "The third level is for the leaders, the second for the deputies, the first for the medicine cats, and we warriors and apprentices sit on the ground."
"Thanks," Leafpaw answered. "I was so shocked."
"You're welcome," Woodpool blushed.
"Let the meeting begin!" Woodpool heard Splashstar meowed loudly.
Immediately, the two clans quiet down except for some murmurings. Splashstar flicked his tail at Greenstar, inviting him to start first.
"Prey is running well this greenleaf," Greenstar started. "But one of our apprentices is missing, did Waterclan keep her as prisoner?" Immediately, the noise level increased.
"No." was Splashstar's reply. "Is that all?"
"Not yet," Greenstar continued. "One of our warriors and two of our apprentices had received a message from Starclan. Starclan told us to head east to find four other clans."
"We did too," Splashstar replied. "Dawnfur, Lionpelt, and Mousetail."
Nodding, Greenstar then said, y clan has decided that in three sunrises, we will travelled east to find the clans."
"Okay then," Splashstar mewed. "We will come with you. Our clan is healthy."
Saying his thanks to Splashstar, Greenstar glanced at Woodpool. Woodpool glanced back.
"Your turn," Greenstar then meowed to Splashstar.
"There is no sickness in the clan," Splashstar meowed. "And we have two new apprentices, Ashpaw and Fishpaw."
"Ashpaw! Fishpaw!" the two clan shouted cheerfully. The two apprentices fluffled their pelts in excitement."
"So at three sunrise, both of our clan will meet near at the strange trees, east of our territory," Greenstar explained. "This meeting is over. Plantclan, let's go!"
Woodpool stretched his body before heading towards their camp.
