Blossompaw blinked open her eyes. Light was coming into the den; morning was coming. Her injured leg felt numb, but she had already got used to it. She did not bother to lift it up as she knew that it would only cause pain. Blossompaw had no idea that she could recover in 3 day's time. It's unfair that warriors had to hunt for me. She thought. I am not even helping the clan.
She glanced around, and saw Littleclaw organising the herbs. Sharp scent stung Blossompaw's nose, but she did not flinch, she just did not care. Her injured leg had cause too much.
"Hi Blossompaw!" A cat padded into the den. "Oh, Littleclaw, and just want to give her this fat and juicy finch." It was Leaftail. She had only been a warrior for two days but she was acting like a senior warrior.
"Sure, just don't step on my herbs," Littleclaw replied, still looking at the herbs. Leaftail nodded and rushed over to Blossompaw, trampling some daisies along the way.
"Hey! I told you not to step on my herbs!" Littleclaw meowed irritatedly while picking up the squashed daisies.
"Sorry, Littleclaw!" Leaftail purred. "-looking at Blossompaw- Here's the finch. Try it! I catch it this dawn."
Blossompaw took a bite from the finch, the taste spreading through her tongue. She swallowed it and said, "Nice finch, thanks."
"No problem," Leaftail purred, looking embarrassed. "So... can you walk?"
"I don't know," Blossompaw replied unconfidently. "Ask Littleclaw."
"Um, Littleclaw, is Blossompaw able to walk now?" Leaftail meowed.
"Just tell Blossompaw to try to walk, herb-squasher!" Littleclaw yelled, still trying to organise the herbs.
"Um... OK...," Leaftail replied. "So... Blossompaw..?"
"I don't want to!" Blossompaw cried like a kit. "It hurts so much!"
Leaftail gave her an reassuring smile. "Come on," she coaxed. "Just try to walk, please."
"OK! I'll try," Blossompaw replied. She then tried to stand up. To her surprise, it did not hurt at all.
That giving her new confidence, Blossompaw tried to walk slowly. No pain at all. Then, she tried to walk at a normal speed. No pain. She then tried to run. No pain to be felt.
"I can walk again!" she cried. "It's a miracle!"
"You were only limping a little when you called out my warrior name two days ago," Leaftail replied. "No surprise that you can walk now."
"That's because of my amazing medicine skills," Littleclaw bragged.
Blossompaw smiled. My pain is gone. Which means the journey can really start in three days time. she whispered to herself.
