Warriors: The Six Clans (EDITING ATM)

Chapter 19

"Let all gather!" The yowl came from Greenstar.

Woodpool had just arrived back to the Clans with one of the hunting patrols which consisted of the Plantclan cats' Brumblewing and Rosetail and Waterclan cats' Rainpool and Cloudtail in time to hear the yowl.

He quickly placed his squirrel in the temporary freshkill pile and joined the gathering cats. He sat between Splishclaw and Stemleaf and mewed a greeting. He looked away in time to see Leaftail staring at Blossompaw nervously.

Greenstar and Splashstar plodded in front of the the thirty over cats and leaped onto a rock near a tree. The two deputies followed them close behind.

Splashstar was the first to speak. "The three hunting patrols we had sent had brought back many a prey that are enough to feed both clans. Waterclan, for example, hunt the land animals well though the fact that they never did usually hunt land prey."

He paused a while to let the cats discuss before continuing, "I want to mention one of our warriors, Ripplefoot, for catching three pump voles and two magpies, enough to feed all the apprentices." Murmurs of appreciation could be heard, especially from the Waterclan's cats.

"Splashstar, Splashstar, Splashstar... Always showing off your clan," Greenstar purred. "But Plantclan is strong too. Our warriors had also brought much prey. But... should we share our prey?"

Splashstar hesitated before speaking, "We... we should maybe ask for the opinion of the deputies or warriors?"

Greenstar nodded before asking, "So cats, should we share our prey?"

Whispers could be heard but no one answered until a while later.

"Why not?" Violetpelt meowed loudly. "We are all in this together." (LOL high school musical)

Both meows of agreement and disagreement echoed through the clans. The two leaders shook their heads in dismay.

"Greenstar... Splahstar...," a voice interrupted. It was Dawnfur. All the cats turned to look at her.

"Yes, please continue, Dawnfur," Splashstar meowed.

"Well... since there are plenty of prey, and some of the cats are still a bit hostile to each other, why not we let both Plantclan and Waterclan cats share prey with each other? You know, to break the ice..." Dawnfur said silently.

At first, there was total silence, but then murmurs of agreement could be heard.

"What a great idea!" Grayfur the Waterclan elder readily agreed.

"Yes! I want to know more about Waterclan cats!" Fernpaw meowed happily.

"Since everyone agrees, then the prey will be shared," Greenstar declared. "We will leave at Sunhigh."

One by one, the cats took a piece of prey and padded towards an opposite Clanmate. To no intention, Woodpool saw Ruthpelt heading to the Waterclan warrior,Waveleg and sharing a piece of rabbit with him.

Woodpool purred. If a cat did not know the two cats were from different clans, he might had thought they were in love!

Just then, Splishclaw, the deputy of Waterclan, padded towards Woodpool and dropped a piece of squirrel in front of him.

"Let's eat," he purred.

Woodpool meowed a 'thank-you' before taking a bite of the squirrel, savoring the taste of it.

Splishclaw sat down next to him and Woodpool whispered to him, "Look at Ruthpelt and Waveleg, don't you think they will make a good pair?"

"Yes, but too bad they're not from the same Clan," Splishclaw purred before sinking his teeth into the squirrel.

"I agree," Woodpool said before taking another bite of the squirrel.
