I was sat with my back against the wall crying with my head on my knees. This wasn't how it was supposed to be, maybe Holly was right. Maybe it was meant to be her, George and Lockwood. I wasn't supposed to be there. My stupid accidents always cause problems they are always in danger because stupid little Lucy can't do anything, right. I went to hold my rapier for support but it wasn't there. On the panic my hands brushed over the top of a flare and salt bomb. Maybe if I threw them at the wall it would break. It's some type of ghost that controls who goes and stays. I pulled them both out of my belt walking away from the wall. The air grew warm as the ghost welcomed me back to its lair. But before I could get addicted to the calmness of it I flung my last chance at the wall. Covering my ears I watched the explosion of colours as they hit there target. An agonizing pain flared up my back as the ghosts ear piercing screams erupted. The wall crumbled away and my body was flung forwards. Both bodies collided together and my world went black again.
An icy cool breeze blew gently across my back. Warm liquid caked my body, gluing my eyes shut. A moan of pain escaped my lips as I slowly started to gain control of my body again and my brain finally registered the thousands of slits across my body. Breaking the thin film of blood over my eyes I sat up gasping in pain with every small movement another lightly healed cut split back open. Holly's ragged breathing could be heard from the corner and I could just make out her shivering silhouette. A sickly dark liquid started to fill my mouth, I spat it out but more came in its place. I tried swallowing it but nothing helped, my nails scraped across the cool stone beneath me as I tried to reach out for someone or something to hold onto. Holly appeared in front of me, I tried to push her away but she ignored my attempts and wrapped her arm around my waste. Lifting me up she made her way through the thousands of corridors I brushed my hand across my backpack double checking I still had the skull with me. We rounded the last corner and the stairs came into view, Holly started walking faster as we got closer and closer to the stairway. I felt a spark of hope ignite in my stomach as we grew closer, but that small spark demolished as a sharp wind threw us both into the walls. An agonizing scream erupted from my lips as I felt my ribs slowly bend themselves inwards. My breathing became ragged as the bones that once formed my ribs started to collapse in on them. A calm melodic hum met my ears as I watched small wisps crawl around the corner like snakes. Holly stood and after giving me one last glance disappeared down the stairs.
The ghost made her presence know as she formed in front of me. I couldn't look away from her, she was her own kind of beautiful. Dark brown hair floated around her as if she was standing under water. She had deep set emerald eyes, a small button nose, high cheek bones and rosy red lips. Yet she held a natural, calm and loving aura about her. The dress she wore was a floor length glistening ball gown, it billowed out around her at the bottom and yet at the top it was as fit as a glove. She didn't say anything and she didn't need to, instead she turned her head from side to side examining me. She was just as captivated by me as I was her. I didn't dare move in fear of injuring myself harder or her possibly attacking me.
