The doors to Goldine High School open up and in walks a couple of kids. Akira, Baby, and Davien. Akira's tall stature with his arm around Baby, headphones around his neck but blasting loudly to where you can hear the new Dave East mixtape playing from down the hall. Baby smiling from ear to ear hugging against Akira's waist as if she's glued to his belt buckles. And finally Davien, walking close behind dribbling a basketball between his legs as if he owns the building. Ignoring each teacher demanding him to stop as they walk by. His Balmain jeans hanging down off his waist exposing his dark blue Polo boxer waistline and supreme sweatshirt with the brand new fresh from store look.
Davien ducks off down another hall and stops at the corner and pops open his locker, placing his backpack inside, strange. And he closes the locker and begins to dribble the basketball between his legs again down the hall catching back up to Akira and Baby. The couple that turns heads every time they walk into the school. Stopping at the far end of the hall as their lockers are 3 away from each other. Baby let's her grip of his waist go and opens her locking, checking her long, bouncy curls in her mirror and placing lip gloss on her full rounded lips. Akira puts his combination in but his locker doesn't open and he let's out an aggressive grunt. Attempting again, he still doesn't get it open. He yells and throws a punch to the locker, immediately shaking his hand in pain afterwards.
Baby puts her lip gloss away and goes over to him and kisses his hand. She puts in his combination and opens his locker and she gives him a smile that he can't resist. He takes off his headphones and turns his music off placing them both into his locker as Baby returns to hers.
In between them walks a girl with her hood on her hoodie over her head. Sleeves rolled up revealing a roman numeral date on her inside forearm. Her music playing through her headphones obnoxiously loud, louder than Akira's drawing his attention as well as Baby's. Their eyes lock on the girl and she removes her headphones and looks at Akira then over at Baby. Baby looks at the girl and gazes into her light green eyes, holding back a smile that would start up a commotion with Akira. Her eyes quickly moves to a familiar bandage right below her right eye. The girl looks down and places her phone in her pocket and backpack into the locker and shuts it, walking off.
"That girl is weird man. I've never heard her speak since freshman year" Akira says approaching Baby.
"You're right, I haven't heard her talk all year in first hour. I don't even know her name." Baby responds clutching her purse.
Akira shrugs and walks Baby over to her first hour class, which is actually 2 and a half today due to finals and block schedule. Davien and Baby have the same first hour but he's up ahead of them, spitting game to another girl outside of the doorway.
As they reach the door, Akira pulls Baby in and wraps his arms around her waist, lifting her from the ground a bit as her 5'1 height is far from his 6'0 self. They plant a few kisses on each others lips and he let's her go, running off to his class.
A bell sounds and she heads to her seat in the back left of the classroom. Davien takes his seat in the front that he's been assigned for being a class clown.
The final bell sounds and in walks the girl from the locker. She removes her hood to show light brown curls tied above her head. Her skin lighter than before as the hood casted a shadow on it and this time her sleeves pulled down as the school has a strict no tattoo showing policy. Even though it's the week before summer break, the school acts if everyone is prisoners. She takes a seat right beside Baby and immediately puts her headphones in and places her head on the desk as if to go to sleep.
Baby looks over and taps the girl on her back shoulder.
The girl lifts her head up and looks at Baby. She signals for her to take her headphones out.
