Baby's POV

After school I stand out in the parking lot waiting for Akira and Davien to come out. The wind is breezy and my curls are flying all around my forehead. Every few minutes someone comes by complimenting me and I give a nod and my usual "thanks". I'm just ready for this school year to be over with so I can be a senior. I hate school.

I pull out my hand mirror and look at my hair, taking a rubber band from my wrist and putting my hair up because it's annoying me right now.

"Where these niggas at" I scream loudly as my frustration grows.

I turn and put my purse and bag on top of the car and take a seat on the trunk, swinging my feet back and forth. A few more moments past by and out walks Akira and Davien from the back side of the gym. They're laughing and goofing around like they're not late.

I hop off the car and roll my eyes as I grab my purse and bag walking to the opposite side. Akira comes to me and grabs my waist attempting to kiss me over and over but I just push him off.

"Get off me" I say as I open the backseat, tossing my bags in and I climb in behind them.

"What's wrong?" He asks sitting beside me as Davien gets in the driver seat as well.

I don't respond, just shrug my shoulders and pull out my phone. He sits back and pulls his phone out too.

Davien turns on the music and drives off the lot, speeding as usual.

"Yo we bout to go to the mall. Gotta get some things" Davien says. Normally I'd be upset but since it's friday, I don't mind.

Time goes by and we reach the mall. Each one of us gets out and we each go our separate ways once we step inside. Akira, as usual, goes off to foot locker, Davien heads straight, and I go to Forever 21.

I'm not buying anything but I do like to look for when I get paid. They restocked so there's a lot to look through. As I search through the shelves, I see Zamani walking into the champs store across from me. My eyes stick on her as she goes into the back.

I stop looking through the clothes and head over there slyly. I pretend to look at the shoes on the shelves as I see her come out from the back. She doesn't see me so I approach her, still looking around so it doesn't make me too obvious.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" I ask standing in front of her.

She gives me an awkward look and then looks down at her uniform shirt.

"I work here" she says looking back up at me.

I don't reply because I notice that the normal bandage isn't on her face. It's gone and I finally see what it's been hiding.

She has a tiny tattoo that says Survivor right beneath her eye. And strangely enough it adds to her attractiveness, somehow making me weak. Her green eyes not leaving me. This makes me examine her whole facial details and body. Her right arm covered in tattoos that you wouldn't expect because she's always wearing sleeves. Her hair still tied up above her head. Her tall figure.

As i'm looking at her, her mouth begins to move and I pay attention to the motion, she has braces. I did not notice that earlier.

Her mouth moves again and this time I shake my head.

"Sorry, what?" I slip out.

"You need help or something?" she repeats. I shake my head no and quickly exit the store, breathing heavily.

I head to the entrance and wait for Davien and Akira. My heart is beating fast for some reason and I honestly don't know why.

Later that night, me and Akira are in the house. Davien left to do something, who knows with his dramatic ass. Always has to be doing something like people really care about him. He's attention seeking and I know it but nobody catches onto him. Soon they will though.
