Zamani is just looking at me with a blank face. Not anger, excitement, satisfaction, anything. I struggle to know if she even knows I kissed her. Maybe I had stopped just in time.

"Was you kissing me?" She says, not changing her facial expression. Well there goes her not knowing.

I don't say anything back, I just quickly get up and throw my pants on, bolting out of her house.

Zamani's POV (A Week Later)

My alarm goes off and it's the last time I have to hear this damn sound, at least for a few months. It's now the last day of school and I haven't been all week. But it's friday, the party is tonight, and I might as well return my books and get my lock from my locker.

I sit up and rub the crust from both my eyes and rub my stomach. I stumble into the bathroom, still groggy, with one eye open and turn the light on. I run my fingers through my hair and look at myself in the mirror. I turn my speaker on and Gucci Gang comes on my spotify playlist. I guess that works for this situation. I grab my toothbrush and brush my teeth, then rinse with mouthwash before checking my breath in my hand.

Before I exit the bathroom I reach in the drawer beneath the sink and pull out a box of bandages, opening one to cover my tattoo. Looking at myself in the mirror still, I decide to say fuck it and toss the bandages in the drawer. It's the last day, who cares.

I go to my closet and pull out a Los Angeles Lakers t shirt and some white joggers before slipping on my slides because I'm totally over it at this point.

I arrive at the school and walk into the overly crowded hallways as everyone decides to show the last day, thought I would be the minority that would.

But today is different, everyone is looking. Granted I am dressed differently, all my tattoos showing, my hair down. But lord knows I'm not the one for attention.

I haven't seen or talked to Baby since she kissed me in my sleep, but right now her eyes are glued on me as I approach my locker. I step to mine in between her and Akira. They don't seem like they've made up since whatever happened between them but it's not my business. I see her staring at me from the corner of my eye but I just clean out my locker and toss everything in the trash cans the school has provided.

"Hey" Baby says, nudging my arm. I look at her and give her a nod then walk to first hour, the only class we have today.

Baby follows in close behind and I see Davien sitting in the back where Baby would normally sit. I go to the opposite side and Baby sits in the seat in front of me and turns around to face me. "Are you okay?" she asks, looking me in my eyes.

"Why wouldn't I be?" I reply, slouching in the seat.

"You haven't been coming or talking to me" she says crossing her legs in the chair.

"You haven't talked to me either. You walked out, remember?" I reply looking over at Davien as he's watching the both of us but quickly looks away at his phone.

"Yeah... so are you coming to the party tonight?"

"I don't know yet" I look down at my phone and see a reminder for something I already had planned. "Probably not"

Her face is covered with a slight sadness that strangely makes me uncomfortable. "I might" I say in hopes the look on her face goes away, but it doesn't.
