A Nursery

German was decorating the nursery and I sat in the centre of the room supervising. We were painting the nursery yellow because we felt it was a gender-neutral colour and also a very uplifting colour.

Occasionally German let me do some painting but mostly he made me sit down and watch because apparently with only ten weeks to go, I shouldn't be doing much. Ten weeks is around two and a half months and the idea of doing virtually nothing for that amount of time is worrying.

I suddenly sympathise with Violetta a lot more, as German's overprotectiveness is killing me. Violetta doesn't mind though because it means he is leaving her alone, but it's driving me mad.

He's also annoying me since he hasn't spoke to me about the visitor we had last night. I saw them talking, but he doesn't realise this.

He hasn't even mentioned anything to me and that annoys me. Would he really hide it from me?

Since he hasn't mentioned it, I assume its a yes.

I was going to confrount him about it, but a grinning Violetta barged into the room screaming.

"Angie! Dad! Huge News!" she cries.

She regains her balance and then looks around.

"Hey, it's looking good in here!" she says, suddenly immedialey calm, "Oh wait! I have news!"

German and I are giggling at her, shes so hyper sometimes.

"Well, you know the competition? To keep us in the studio?" she says jumping up and down.

"Yes." I say smiling.

"I'm in! I'm staying at the studio for another five years!" cries Violetta.

"That's great!" says German hugging her first before she comes and hugs me.

"It's amazing Vilu! I thought it was only four years though?" I say as she hugs me.

"It was, but the top two girls and the top two boys get to stay for an extra year! It was a complete surprise and we were only told when they revealed the results today!"

"That's great! But so confusing! What happened exactly?" I say.

Violetta sits down on the floor next to my chair in the nursery and beings to explain.

"So, we had the competition to see who would remain at the studio right? And each week, more and more people were eliminated. The final person was eliminated today and the remaining people could stay for another four years!" she squeals.

"I get that bit! Explain the rest!" I say smiling.

"So the selected girls were myself, Fran, Cami, Naty and Ludmilla. We are the five girls who will continue to represent the studio."

"For the boys, it was Leon, Fede, Maxi, Broduey and Marco. The choices were ideal, all the girls have their boyfriends with them and it's brilliant!"

"That's great Vilu." I say smiling, "But what about the others?"

"Everyone else will have to leave like normal, it's a shame really, to lose a few friends."

"I understand, but what about the five years thing?"

"Oh! Well that was a huge secret! That the top two girls and boys would get to do an extra year on top of the others! The decision was apparently in the hands of the online voters and I got in!!"

"That's so amazing! Who else got in?" I ask.

"It was Ludmilla and I for the girls and Marco and Fede for the boys."

"That sounds like a very difficult choice." I say honestly.

"It must have been! Fran and Cami are gutted that they won't be with us, especially as Fran and Marco are dating, It's good for Ludmi and Fede to be together, but it means I don't have Leon and he is gutted about that too."

"On the bright side Violetta, at least you have another four years together, when you should only have a few months!"

"I know, I do! I'm really happy!" she says hugging me again, "Anyway, what's new with you guys?"

"I'm not sure, can you think of anything German?"

I deliberately directed this question to German to see if he would mention last night.

"Nothing new today." says German as he paints a bit more.

"Well, can we think of anything that happened yesterday to talk about, surely we aren't that boring!"

"Afraid we are." says German, not participating at all.

It was driving me crazy. He hasn't mentioned it.

"What about visitors? Did we tell Violetta about our visitors?" I say grinding my teeth.

"She knew that Pablo and Esmeralda were coming for dinner." he says now seeming to ignore me.

"What about after dinner?" I say annoyed.

German turns to face me.

"Pardon?" he says confused.

"What about after dinner, didn't we have a knock at the door?" I say trying to be vague, "You haven't even told me who it was!"

"Just Pablo coming to grab Esmeralda's jacket, she'd left it on the side."

I was seeing red. He was lying through his teeth.

"Liar!" I cried, "I saw it all!"
