I got out of the maze, and as the opening closed behind me, I saw a bright light. Slowly, the light died down, and I saw a  boy standing in front of me. We were in a forest of some kind. I looked up, and saw the starry night behind the thick cover of trees. Behind me, where I came out of, was a large pile of rocks. The marking I saw earlier glowed slightly, then died down.

The boy looked young, about my age. He was holding a gold bow, faintly glowing in the dark. He had a quiver of bronze arrows slung across his back. He wore bronze armor, with a strange ancient bronze helmet.

He looked at me, with a look of confusion. "Where did YOU come from?" He asked.

I was about to answer, when a group of four people dressed in the same kind of armor ran towards us.

"Take out the archer!" Yelled one of them. The boy started firing arrows, but only scraped them. They pinned him down.

One of the people, the same one who ordered them to attack, walked up to me, a spear in her hand.

"And who might you be? A new camper?" she asked coldly.

"What are you talking about?" I spat. She gave a murderous glare.

"If you're new, then that means one thing. I get to welcome you here, personally"

'Somehow, I get the feeling that isn't a good thing' I thought. I got up and backed away, drawing my sword and pistol.

"Take your best shot" I said. She ran toward me, yelling a battle cry. She jabbed at me with her spear, grazing my side. I blocked her next attack with my sword, but I felt something coming from the spear. I stumbled back. It felt like my nerves were burning. Her spear was glowing electric blue.

"What's with all these glowing weapons" I muttered. "I should stay away from that spear tip" I told myself. "Don't want to get electrocuted again". I Blinked behind her, and hit her neck with the end of my sword. She stumbled forward.

"What in Hades was that?!" she yelled. "That's not possible!"

I swung my sword, making a gash in her arm. "Clearly it is." I said coldly. I raised my pistol, and pointed it at her forehead.

"Say goodnight." I said. I was about to squeeze the trigger, until I heard a clopping sound, like the hoofs of a horse or goat. I looked up, and saw... something. It had the body of the horse,  but from where the horse's neck would be, the waist of a man was in its place. The man/horse had a look of concern at me and the girl I was about to kill.

I pointed my gun at it.

"What the Hell are you?!" I yelled. I looked around, and saw other people walking closer to me. They all had the same kind of armor. Some were lined with blue fur, others with red. I heard murmuring among them.

"Who is that?" "That's a creepy mask" "Was he going to kill Clarisse?" "What cabin is he in?" "Is he even a camper?" "Maybe he's a new one."

"Where am I?" I asked. "What is this place?"

"Relax, young one." said the horse man. "You're safe now. My name is is Chiron. I am a centaur, and this is Camp Half-Blood."

I put down my gun. I don't know how, but I knew he could be trusted. It was then that I realized how exhausted I was. I felt my body get heavy. I remember falling and passing out.
