I'm sorry it took so long to get the part up. I've been really busy working and reading all your stories as well. I hope you enjoy. It took me a while to sort out how this scene would play out, so I hope it came out okay.
Zorell made her way to the ladies' room to freshen up, while Lolly was taking a break. She didn't want to miss one minute of the show. It wasn't every day she got to see a famous singer perform in person. It gave her a chance to freshen up her makeup and touch up her hair.
The bathroom was pretty much empty which made her somewhat at ease. She hated putting on makeup and brushing her hair in front of an audience. After putting on some final touches, she looked up to see a porcelain clock hanging in front of the entrance to the bathroom. It was designed to match the theme of the establishment, a blue orchid. She was amazed by the attention to detail of this place. She felt that it was designed with her specifically in mind, right down to the flower arrangement, but it was silly for her to think that, because Gavin had the club long before he met her. Still, she liked the idea that somehow it was designed just for her.
She felt a little tired and noticed there was a lady's lounge and thought she would sit down and have a few quite moments to herself before returning to the table where she felt she was on somewhat of a display.
The lounge looked so inviting, with its off white and powder blue chairs and long flower printed sofa facing a glass table with a single orchid etched on each corner. The plush pillows were so soft she found herself drifting off for a moment.
After what seemed like a few minutes, Zorell felt a shadow come over her and her eyes popped open. There she saw a dark-haired man standing there. At first, she thought that it was Gavin, but on close inspection she realized that it wasn't him at all.
"Good evening, Miss Dupree, he said in a formal way which made her suspicious. What was he doing here in the ladies' lounge? Wasn't there some rule about men not be permitted. Then she thought that might be silly seeing that this was, after all, a speakeasy.
"Who are you?" she asked as she rose to a sitting position. Before she could protest, he was sitting next to her.
She felt uneasy having him sitting so close, but she thought it might be impolite to move away. It was an old childhood teaching of good manners that kept her frozen in her spot.
"Olivia told me all about you," he said, moving his hand towards her. "It's not right for a chat to leave a lady all alone."
He came even closer to her and she tried to move away, but he grabbed her arm. "I have to go," she said, trying to escape him. "Someone is waiting for me."
"Don't you worry about Gav, Livi will keep him busy, while we get better acquainted," he said, trying to pull her down on the sofa.
