The girls moved to the lounge with the French doors opened, which made the house looked much bigger with the foyer being visible from the seating area. Sabrina and Viola were going to put on their weekly show, and left the group to quickly change into their dancing attire.

Usually it was Miss Kastor who would play the piano while they danced, but the program would change that night when she approached the newest member of their household.

"Zorell, would you like to play?" Miss Kastor asked her.

"Me?" she questioned. She was the new girl, so she assumed it would be a while before she bonded with the others and would be asked to join in on any activities they shared.

"You do know the music from Swan Lake, don't you?" Miss Kastor asked.

"Of course, but...?"

"Zorell plays piano?" Wendy asked. The look on Zorell's face told Wendy that it was true. "Then you have to. I love piano music, and I want to hear. Please."

She was begging like an anxious child, and Zorell realized there was no way she was going to get out of this. "Alright," she said, giving up the fight.

She glanced over towards the end of the sofa and saw that Eve was sitting alone by the fireplace and walked over to her. She must have felt a shadow cast over her, because the girl looked up at Zorell with confusion written all over her face. Zorell signed to her that she wanted her to join her at the piano. The other girls just looked on in silent astonishment.

The other girls' reactions didn't faze her, because she learned that deaf people could feel the vibrations when touching musical instruments, while they were being played and in a way, can hear the music. It was a fact, that Beethoven was himself deaf, and in her opinion and many others was one of the greatest composers of all time despite his handicap.

Eve smiled shyly and complied and let Zorell lead her over to the piano. The other girls had shocked looks on their faces all but Wendy who seemed to approve of Zorell's gesture. Eve stood next to Piano as Zorell sat down at the bench and prepared to begin paying the musical piece. The sheet music was laid out but she knew this one by heart, and put her own twist on the piece.

"Ready when you are?" Viola said as she took her first position. She wore a white leotard with a transparent pink skirt and her ballet slippers that matched her skirt. Sabrina wore the same outfit but in a powder blue.

Eve had her hands on the piano as Zorell playing the piece, and Zorell could hear the girls whispering. It stopped once their resident ballerinas started their dancing. Eve seemed to be enjoying the music, she had her ear close to the piano and she was barely watching the dancing at all.

Logically, people wouldn't think that a deaf girl could enjoy music, but Eve was living proof that was a falsehood. Perhaps, now the other girls wouldn't be so reluctant to let Eve join in on their fun. If they would just learn to sign, perhaps they would even consider her a friend.

All the girls clapped at the end of the dance as Zorell hit the last note, even Eve was reluctantly chapping with a smile on her face.

"Should we do another one?" Viola asked, still trying to catch her breath.

"Maybe Zorell could sing this time," Wendy said and Zorell shook her head. She never really sang in public, not by herself anyway.

"That's not a good idea," Zorell said, but Wendy had a desperate look on her face.

"Oh, please, I'll sing with you," Wendy said and put her palms together. She looked as if she were praying, and there was no way Zorell could say no.

"Alright, I give up," Zorell said, "but you choose the song."

"Let's do something modern and jazzy," Wendy said and whispered into Zorell's ear. It didn't surprise her that she knew the song. It was one of Leland's, and whether Wendy knew it or not, Gavin was one the one who recorded it. She knew that because she had played the single record at Leland's apartment.

The song was called A Whole Lot of You. It was a fun flirty song, and Wendy took the first verse, while Zorell took the second, and they harmonized in the chorus. Wendy's range was on the high side, while Zorell's was a little lower, but their voices blended together nicely.

Their resident ballerinas danced to the music, something modern and fresh, and when they finished everyone cheered. Who would have thought that having a little musical talent would gain her acceptance in her new home almost immediately?

After about an hour of conversing casually with the girls, Zorell thought it was time to retire for the night. She was tired and still had a lot to do to get settled in, but right now she needed a good night's rest.

She quickly changed into her night clothes and ran a brush through her hair. That bed looked so inviting that she couldn't think of anything better than to crawl under the covers for a goodnight's sleep.

As she crawled into bed, she noticed her book was sitting by the lamp. She opened it up to see Gavin's picture. She still hadn't given him an answer to the question he asked her, and she didn't know what she was going to tell him. She needed some advice, and she knew just where to get it. She set the book back down and turned off the light. Sleep came quickly but not calmly.

Thanks everyone for reading I got the next apart already under way. She I'll post again soon.
