Falling Down (Levi and Mikasa)

Chapter Fourteen

Levi pushes past the nurses, competely ignoring them. A long line of curses flooding his mind. People were running everywhere, amd he found it almost difficult to keep dodging them.

Finally, he reaches the room. Levi doesnt hesitate to open the door and rush in but, when he sees her laying on the bed, so pale, he stops in his tracks.

A nurse was saying something to him and trying to push him back out the door but, he didnt budge. He cant hear anything. Hes never felt fear like this before.

He shakes his head, trying to clear it, "i can help you. What do you need?"

She moves her head, "no, you must leave. We are working very hard right now to save her and we dont need any distractions. Im sorry."

The doctor faces her, "quickly get him out of here. We are loosing her. I need your help."

He lets her push him out but, he stays on the other side just staring at the door in front of him. Humanities strongest felt helpless.

Eren eventually came and brought the captain to the waiting area and they did wait for what felt like hours.

Once a nurse and the doctor came into the room. The two stood up, waiting for any news.

"Mikasa made it. Shes awake right now even though she is feeling weak so, id be gentle with her..." the doctor explains but, is interrupted with Levi pushing past him without a single word.

His heart was pounding, he wanted to cry but, honestly he wasnt sure if he could anymore, not after everything hes been through and seen.

He reaches the door and slowly brings himself inside. Mikasa was laid on the bed, a weak smile on her face.

"Hey," she simply says.

Levi pulls a chair next to the bed and sits. He grabs her hand very gently, like she might just break, "hey."

"Im glad your okay."

He frowns, "i should thank you for saving me but, truthfully im very irritated with you, you brat. Doing something so stupid."

"It wasnt stupid. You're here."

"Look where you're at?" He couldnt help but, point out. He didnt raise his voice though, his voice calm, "all because i let my guard down. Its not like me."

"It was shocking."

"Thanks," he says sarcastically.

Mikasa squeezes his hand weakly, "please dont blame yourself. Like you said, out there anything can happen. Im just glad we are together right now."

"Me too," he wouldnt admit to her that he was afraid. Like if she left him, his world might crumble. He even had thoughts avout if he could even survive without having a future with her, "no more trying to get yourself killed. We still have to see the ocean. What is it again?"

He just wanted to hear her talk, a reminder that she is okay.

"A big area of water but, Armin told us its full of salt."

"Salt?"

She nods.

"Sounds strange. I wouldnt touch it. It could be poisoness."

She laughs at that, "thats such a you thing to say."

Im sorry for the short chapter but, its been a while since ive updated so, i thought i might as well post something. I plan on posting one or two new chapters every weekend. Curently ive been busy working on my own novel but, i take a break from it on weekends which is a good opportunity for me to write more of this story.
