Mikey's POV.

When I wake up, I feel like my skin is on fire. The blanket that's wrapped around me feels like it's made of small pieces of broken glass and the mattress I'm lying on, feels like it's covered with spikes.

I try to get back to sleep, but I can't. When I open my eyes again, I suddenly see my father sitting on the edge of my bed. He gives me a  sympathic smile. "Hey, kid, you alright?" he asks.

"No, I'm not," I say. "My body, it it hurts so much. A - and I'm so scared, dad, I feel so scared."

Dad smiles. "It's okay, Mikey. It's just some bruises, it'll heal. I'm actually here for something else."

"What is it?" I ask curiously.

He smiles again "You know, last week has been the best week ever. I could finally work in peace, without you annoying me all the time..."

I frown. "W-what?"

"So... I've decided I don't want you back. I'm going to give the boys what they want and then leave you here," he says.

The door opens and Andy and Rye walk in. "It's time to pay, Blair," Rye says with a wicked smile on his face.

Andy smiles as well. "If you deal with him, I'll deal with this loser," he says and Rye nods his head.

"Okay, loser," Andy says, as he climbs on top of me. "If you think what I did to you yesterday hurt, you're definetely going to like this." He puts his hand in his pocket and reveals a ridiculously sharp knife. "I'm going to show you what real pain is."

I wake up crying and choking. I blindly swing my fists around to defend myself from imaginairy enemies, but then someone catches my wrists.

"Mikey, calm down!" a stern voice says. "You're going to hurt yourself. Wake up!"

I open my eyes and see Rye's face hovering above me. I gasp for air and start sobbing.

"Calm down, Mikey," Rye says. "Calm down." He gently touches my cheeks with his hands and locks his eyes with mine. "Concentrate on your breathing, Mikey, try to calm it down."

I slowly calm myself down and wipe away my tears. "Thank you," I whisper. "I - I don't know what happened to me. Must have been a nightmare or something."

Rye lies down beside me and laughs. "Funny, I actually didn't think you'd be that type of person that wakes up screaming after having a nightmare," he says. "I can't blame you, though. What happened to you yesterday was absolutely awful."

"Yeah, it was one of the worst experiences in my life," I admit. "What happened to Andy actually?"

"Don't worry. We won't let him hurt you again, pretty boy," he says. "We locked him up in his room yesterday after we'd managed to get him away from you. A few hours later we decided to check up on him. He said he was really sorry about what he did to you and he said he would never do it again."

"I hope he meant it," I whisper underneath my breath. "I - I really thought he was going to kill me."

"I'm pretty sure he meant it, pretty boy. I don't think I trust him for 100 precent though, so the others and I have decided you're going to sleep with me in my room from now on."

"I guess I can live with that," I laugh. "I'm just wondering, why aren't you afraid I will kill you in your sleep. I mean, I'm still your prisoner right?"

Rye shrugs. "I don't know. I just trust you somehow. But, I'm sorry, I'll have to lock the door at night, because we don't want you to run away."

"I thought you said you trusted me," I say, teasing him.

"If I was in your situation, I'd run away as well if my kidnapper wouldn't lock the door," he explains.

"I think every person would do that, to be honest," I say. "I've got one last question to ask you, though. Can I ask it?"

"Go ahead."

"You know my name is Mikey and you've known it even before you kidnapped me," I say and he nods. "Then why do you keep calling me 'pretty boy'?"

Rye chuckles. "I don't know, I think it suits you."

"In that case I'm calling you Superman," I say.

"Why would you call me Superman?" he asks laughing.

"Well you're like really muscular and you're always trying to do what's best for everyone. At least... Except for kidnapping me."

"Yeah, sorry about that," he says looking at his hands. "I promise I will explain why we did it to you some time."

I run my hand through my hair. "Yeah, you definetely owe me an explanation, Superman." We start laughing and smile at each other, not saying anything for a couple of minutes.

"You're not right about ons thing though," Rye says suddenly.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"I'm not always doing what's best for everyone," he says and gets closer to me. "Actually," he whispers. "I'm just doing it for you..."

I'm actually kind of proud of this chapter. I somehow really liked writing it and I also really like the picture of Mikey at the top ⬆️

I hope you liked it as well :)
