Friday came pretty quickly. Thank God! I've kept my head down around John...and my lips shut...Every time he's asked me something...or said anything towards me...I've smiled and nodded...or shook my head. I just don't wanna slip up and say anything to him I shouldn't....like that I'm the girl he's looking for....that's very bad. Amanda's been giving me death stares all week...and I don't care. She was never my friend to begin with....I've been surrounding myself with other people's problem's like Anna's obsession with Woody, the meat head. And Kara's crush on Henry, the artistic jock. It wasn't going to be easy.....which meant it would be fun.

I sat in my seat between Amanda and Woody, but they weren't doing their normal talking....actually they weren't talking at all. Amanda was silent during class....which was a relief, but strange. Woody was his normal self...pulled a bag of mini powdered donuts out of his backpack. I couldn't help but a let a chuckle drift from me. Woody laughed as he gave me some of his donuts. I ate them slow...trying not to get powder on my black sweater. He laughed at me as I took tiny bites.

"Just shove it in you're mouth!" Woody laughed as he shook me. I playfully punched him as I shoved the donut in my mouth. John looked back at me and smiled. I quickly wiped my face with my sleeve and chewed faster than I thought possible as I gulped down the rest of my donuts. I didn't want him to see me with a mouth full of donuts....so unattractive. I felt my cheeks burn.

"Wait for me after school?" John smiled at me. I opened my moth to protest that I couldn't, but I shut my lips. What was I doing? He wants me to wait for him....I have no idea why....It could be something bad, but I don't care......I miss being around him.

"Sure." I smiled as I looked back at my paper...trying to play it cool. Woody poked me with the end of his pencil...I looked at him.

"You like, John?" He whispered with a smile. I rolled my eyes.

"Mind your business, Woody." I hissed at him playfully. Woody just nodded as if he knew....and he most likely did, but right now...I didn't care. Mr. Dickson began writing on the board...He wrote the words: Boor, Factious, Aegis. He turned towards us.

"Ms. Richie...define Aegis for the class." Mr. Dickson pointed at me.

"It means...shield and or protection." I replied. Mr. Dickson nodded.

"Very good! Mr. Keen define Factious." Mr. Dickson called out. Woody leaned forward in his seat.

"I have no clue....it has something to do with facts I assume." Woody laughed. I let out a sigh as I shook my head.

"No....It means to cause a disagreement." John interrupted. I looked at him and smiled.

"Mr. Galvin....I'm impressed." Mr. Dickson smiled.

"I'm pretty awesome at vocabulary." John laughed...the turned to me and smiled. I blushed.

"Define altruism." Mr. Dickson raised one eyebrow.

"Um..concern for others or generosity." John stated.

        "Besiege?" Mr. Dickson smirked.

"To surround and attack." John yawned. I giggled.

"Nerd." Woody coughed jokingly. I rolled my eyes and continued to watch Mr. Dickson and John go back and fourth with vocab words. Everyone cheered when John got it right...he was so smart....half the words he knew...I never heard before.

"Last one....ephemeral?" Mr. Dickson laughed. John was quiet for a little.....then he smile.

"Lasting only a short time......short lived." John sighed.
