Writing Prompt;

Instead of heaven or hell, when you die, you find yourself in the room of a six year-old girl who invites you to join her tea party. It soon dawns on you, you're her imaginary friend!

It's not like you'd think, death, it neither a bright white heaven nor a dark black hell. It's actually a room, a little girls room to be exact. It has a small window on one wall and a bed under it. A closet is located on the other side of the room and in front of it there is a small plastic table with porcelain tea cups and plates. Around the table there's four chairs, three already occupied by two stuffed animals and the third one; a little girl. She's looking right at you with the brightest eyes you've ever seen. "Do you wanna join my tea party?" She asks you. You stand there, frozen, a million thoughts going through your head. Why can she see me? Where am I? Who is this little girl? I didn't have time to answer before she spoke again. "Here, you can take this seat. Mr Snuggles couldn't come today so his seat is empty." You didn't argue with her and took the seat. Still not talking she started to serve you 'tea' which consisted of air and more air. "Do you take sugar in your tea?" You shook your head not trusting your voice. The little girl sipped carefully from her pink cup blowing a little in between each sip to 'cool it down'. You took your cup and did the same. "Did you like it?" She put down her cup and looked at you again with those big chocolate brown eyes. "I did." You spoke carefully, testing your own voice a bit. The girl gave you a toothy grin and continued 'drinking' her tea. You stayed with the girl for the rest of the day to play with her. You thought it was an odd place to be at after you died but you didn't complain, you liked it here and the little girl had kinda grown on you and you were with her everyday now

This continued on for years. You had seen her grow up and she grew into a lovely young girl. She was eight at the moment. She was still the only one in the house that could see you. But you weren't with her as much as you used to. You followed her to school and kept her company there too, she didn't have many friends but it you didn't mind, it just meant she could be with you more. You just wanted what's best for her and right now that was you.

At the moment you were playing with dolls in her room but you got curious so you asked her why she was the only one that could see you. She thought for awhile. "Well, my parents keep saying you're just a imaginary friend and that your not real.." Your eyes went wide as you realised what the girl said, you were just her imaginary friend. "..but I think you're real." She kept playing with her dolls as you wondered about what she said. This explains a lot, but if I'm just an imaginary friend what is gonna happen when she grows up. Will I permanently die or will I go on to another child little child that needs a friend. I can't let her forget me.

You couldn't let go of the thought that your little girl will forget you when she grows up. You couldn't, no you won't let that happen. You needed something that will keep her with you forever.

Two years went by and you put your plan to work. You little girl hadn't talked to you in a while but you could still affect things around in the world so you knew this was going to work. Your plan was to get her to join you in the afterlife. You had thought this through so many time you were sure it was going to work. You had planned on getting her out in the traffic and then she would be yours.

She was playing ball with some friends and all of a sudden the ball rolled out in the street so she went to chase it. When she picked the ball up and went to walk away there came a big truck driving, it started honking at the girl but she didn't move, she couldn't move. It was like someone was holding her there and seconds before things went black she could here a small whisper in her ear. "Soon, soon we'll be together again. And you won't leave me this time."
