"Jack?" I asked, looking at the map, where I was stationed. I had absolutely no idea as to what I was looking at. Jack was steering the wheel and had decided he could keep a close eye on me there since I still had not really forgiven him, but not much strength to do anything about him picking me up.

"Yes Luv?" I scowled as he called back at me before nodding for Gibbs to take the wheel and walking over to lean over me and see just what I was looking at. "Finally forgiven me then?"

"Not on your life." I pointed at the map, refusing to look at him. It wasn't fair that he could be so close with no side effects at all. My head was swimming when I smelled him- honestly, he needed a bath. "What is this?"

"Wha's what Luv?" He leaned over me even more, putting his arms around me to balance on the table.

"My name is Angel. " I snapped, pushing him off before pointing a funny shaped circle on the map that I could only assume was an island. "And this looks funny, what is it?"

Jack looked at it and paused. He got a strange look on his face, like he was thinking. "That's... That is the.... Was there a bit about a mermaid?" I nodded. "Angel?"

"Yeah?"

"What was it?" He was looking at me with sharp eyes, waiting for my answer.

I went through it a bit. "...The mermaid weeps her tears of blue-"

"She weeps from sorrow and from you." He finished. He started shifting more maps and pulled my chair out of the way.

"Whoa!"

"Stay!" Jack ordered, shoving a finger in my face like I was a disobedient five year old.

"meanaaeiblekes" I muttered under my breath as he, Gibbs and William looked at the map. "What about the bend?" I called out to them destroying their happiness at  figuring out part of the riddle.

"What was that Luv?" Sparrow looked at me again, leaning on the table.

"The bend. It seemed pretty important if it was mentioned twice."

"Captain!" A call came from above causing us all to look at the crows nest. "Ship to the East!"

He brought out a spyglass from somewhere that had me looking. Jack saw and winked at me, causing me to huff and look away. "They're headed right for us." He muttered, then looked around like he hoped no one heard that. "Nothing to worry about!" He shouted, but to Gibbs and William he said, "Keep an eye on that horizon." They nodded and went about what they were doing before.

"Sparrow?" He did a 180 degree turn on his heels, swaying a little.

"Yes Luv?" He smirked, walking toward my little chair as I scowled.

"The bend?" I reminded.

"Ah yes." He leaned down, thinking with a smirk on his face. "The bend.... mend the bend.... It's quite obvious Luv." He said.

"Go on then." I urged, backing away from him and crossing my arms, uncomfortable.

"Well, my Dear, you would be the bend." I arched an eyebrow at him, "The bend being how time is bent around you." He reminded me of how I explained time to him, using the rungs of the bannister. "It began when we brought you here and will end when we send you back."

"Ok, but how?"

"How what Luv?"

"How are you supposed to send me back?" He looked a bit confused as to why I would ask that as he turned to shoo away Gibbs and continue steering. I admit, I had been wondering if I ever wanted to go back, but after the whole bit where I found out about him being the reason I was here.... Yes, I do. He was probably thinking of a way to send me back anyways.

"We'll get to that when we get to it. For now, on to Mermaid Rock."  He looked at his compass, only to shut it, shake it, and open it again. He sneaked a peak at me as though he was checking to make sure I wasn't looking at him- I was. I was looking at him rather concerned.

After a bit, I just couldn't take it. I had to get up. I gripped the railing, trying to get away. Everyone was probably laughing at how gullible I was and now that I'm stuck with these guys... I looked out to the horizon, the sun was just setting. Purple bled into orange, red bled into gold, the colors were so rich and pure it took my breath away. My knees shook and it wasn't the good kind."Whoa!" I cried as someone scooped me up.

"Easy Luv." His deep whisper rebounded in my ear drums. "Easy now. Let's get you to bed."

"N-no." I said, shaking my head. "Wait, please."

"What is it Luv?" Worry etched his golden brow.

"The sunset." I said, tearing my gaze from his to look back at it, "I've never seen one like this."

"Really?" He smirked.

I ignored him and continued, "Not only is every sunset different, The future the buildings are so tall and the air so polluted, one can't easily see one where I'm from. The beach is the best. The sun reflects on the water like a mirror as God paints the sky with gold and purples, oranges, reds, so many colors in so many ways. It's better than a snowflake." My own voice turned to whispers as awe entered my gaze, paying no attention to Jack as he held me in his arms. I struggled to stay awake as the final rays went down past the horizon.

"Ready now Luv?" I nodded tiredly, as he turned towards the cabin. He placed me gently on the bed, "I'll bring you something to eat soon." He said, tucking the covers up to my chin.

"Thank you Jack." I sighed, snuggling in.

"Anytime Luv." He tucked some hair behind my ear, "Anytime." I was almost asleep when I felt something scratchy on my forehead. Scratchy, yet soft.

The door closed and I was left with butterflies. Captain Jack Sparrow, of the Black Pearl, just kissed me. Why?! Is it just because he's a huge flirt and I'll be leaving when we find the treasure? Does he really like me? Oh this is bad, this is very bad.
