I felt like drawing a mermaid the other day. So, here you go!

I designed her to look similar to my avatar. I think she turned out cute! Her outfit is simple because I didn't want the drawing to become too "busy", per se. That's why she's wearing a traditional clamshell-bra-esque top instead of a more adventurous design. She's a simple mermaid, with simple joys.
Another reason I wanted the drawing to be simple was because I knew I was going to be drawing and coloring a lot of scales. So. Many. Scales. Plus, I colored them all individually.
Yes, you read that right. Every. Single. One.
I just really didn't want her tail to look like a bunch of scribbles, especially since my solid-color backgrounds can be a little iffy sometimes. But when you factor in her flowing hair, the stream of bubbles, and her classic tail, it makes for a really pretty picture!
