After Vaughn left the house, I glared at the girl hiding behind her boyfriend. I really want to strangle her right now. She has no right to accept expensive gifts, like a freaking car, from other people. Granted that, that said person is my freakishly rich husband, but still she is not to take that outrageous gift from him.
Who are you kidding Cataleya? You are just jealous that he outshines you! It’s just your ego girl! Your freaking ego!
“Ya, please pakiakyat na muna si VAN sa kwarto niya. May pag-uusapan lang kami ni Lily,” pakiusap ko kay Yaya Cedes.
“Mommy, gusto ko po puntahan iyong studio natin sa backyard. Let’s paint!” excited na pagyaya niya sa akin. Pilit kong itinago ang ang pagkainis kay Lily at huminahon para makausap ng maayos si VAN.
“Baby, not now, please... Mommy has something to ask to your auntie,” sabi ko sa kanya na may ngiti sa labi.
“Was it about the cool car that Tita Lily got from Daddy Vaughn?” namimilog ang matang tanong niya. “You should have seen how cool it looked Mommy! It’s black and shiny!” tuwang-tuwang sabi niya.
She really loved cars and thanks to Riel for introducing that to my daughter. Because of that, they are attached to the hip when it comes to it. If you really want to get to VANs good side, you must know about arts and cars. I think if she couldn’t make it to the world of arts, which I doubt it, she’ll be out there designing cars or maybe building it.
“VAN shut it! Later na lang natin pag-usapan ang tungkol doon,” mariing sabi ni Lily kay VAN mula sa likod ni Riel na sinuklian naman niya ng irap.
“Okay, sige baby... sa studio na lang kayo ni Yaya Cedes. If you want to draw, use the new sketchpad that you got from Tito Riel. Go now!” nakangiting utos ko sa kanya at agad naman siyang tumalima, tumakbo palabas at hinabol ni yaya.
“Lily Aleyna Riviera! Come out from Riel’s back! You can’t hide from me...” inis na utos ko sa kanya nang mawala na sa line of sight ko ang aking anak.
“Ate... Huwag ka naman magalit oh, wala akong kasalanan. Please... have mercy on me, ga-graduate na ako bukas, gusto ko pang makuha ang award ko... ang diploma ko... Please don’t kill me...” dire-diretsong pakiusap niya nang makaalis mula sa kanyang pagkakatago.
“Argh! Kailan pa?” yamot na tanong ko sa kanya.
“Kailan ang alin?” maang na tanong niya.
“Kailan pa natapos ang regla mo?!” agad na tanong ko na sinagot lang niya ng pagkunot ng noo at pagkagulat naman ang kay Riel sa eskandalosong tanong ko. I just rolled my eyes at their silliness. “Baliw! What I want to know is... kailan pa niya ibinigay sa iyo ang kotseng sinasabi ni VAN? Were you scheming behind my back for so long?” paglilinaw ko sa kulot-kulot na utak ni Lily. I tapped my foot on the carpeted foyer, getting agitated by the minute.
“K-kagabi lang ate,” ninenerbyos na sagot niya.
