You run up the stairs into your fathers bedroom, grabbing a jacket and a pair of his old pants that almost fit you perfectly. You tie your hair up. "I can pass for a guy," You whisper to yourself.
"Y/N? What are you doing? Get down here!"
You rush down the stairs, nearly tripping. "I'm ready!"
"For what?" Your father asks.
"The war." You reply, "I can pass as a guy."
"Y/N... you might be able to pass as a man, but you're my daughter. You're not getting hurt." He looks over, furrowing his eyebrows.
"I won't get hurt! I'm brave, strong, and I know how to fire a gun! I'll be okay!"
He sighs in defeat, "We leave at dawn."
You wrap you arms around him, smiling and laughing like a child. "Thank you!"
