"Good job out there Y/N, I'm proud of you." Your father tells you.
"Thank you, father." You say as he pulls you in for a hug.
Maybe he doesn't hate me.
You hug him back, "I love you, Y/N. Don't forget that."
"I love you too, dad."
~A Couple Days Later~
1780, A Winter's Ball.Surprisingly, you came in a dress. You wore your hair up in a ponytail, (like always,) and a bit of makeup. You don't have a date, but that doesn't bother you.
I'm an independent woman goddammit!
You walk up to your dad, "Did I really have to come?"
"Yes, Y/N, you did have to come."
"Why? I don't even have a da-"
He cuts you off, "Just hang out with your pops," He pulls you to his side, wrapping his arm around you. "Just like old times."
"You're right, just like old times." You smile.
You look over and see Alexander and the guys flirting with a bunch of girls. You chuckle.
Your father looks down at you, "What's so funny?"
You point over at Alexander talking to Angelica and Eliza. "He's talking to the Schuyler Sisters. What if they form a harem?"
"I don't know, Y/N. But he'll be a very lucky man if he did."
You yawn, "I'm tired.. when are we heading back?"
"Anytime you want to, Y/N."
"I don't want to yet. What if someone asks me to dance?" You ask him.
"Anyone would be lucky to have even one dance with you Y/N. Someone's gonna ask you sooner or later."
You wait and you wait until an hour passes.
"Can we go back now, father?"
"Of course, Y/N."
Tonight, instead of going back to your tent with the guys, you decide to with your father.
~Lafayette's POV~
"Where's Y/N?" I ask, "Did she leave? I was going to ask her to dance."
"I think she left with the General. She probably got tired or somethin'. Herc tells me.
I frown, "Yeah, it's getting late. We should head back."
We head back to camp and walk in the tent. I see Alex writing a letter, (to I assume Eliza,) and John sleeping.
"Writing to the special lady, mon ami?"
"Yup." He smiles. I'm glad he's happy.
"Where's Y/N? I thought she headed back?" I ask him.
"I think she's with her father. She's probably asleep by now, though. Why?"
"No reason." I blush and look away.
"You sure, Laf? It seems like you have something for her." He tells me, chuckling.
"I-I don't! She's just a friend."
"Okay then." He chuckles.
I go to bed. "Listen, Alex, mon ami, I really do have feelings for her. I just don't know how to tell her. We don't even talk in the first place."
"We can talk about it tomorrow, Laf. Just go to sleep, you'll feel better about it in the morning."
"You're right." I lay down. After a while I fall asleep. I hope she's with her father, and I hope she's okay.
