Laf watches as you kick the bouquet. He sees everyone else in the room cheering, but a sad expression spreads across his face.
~Laf's POV~
"Maybe next time, buddy." Alex tells me.
"Yeah, next time." I chuckle. I don't believe in the thing where, 'if you catch the brides bouquet, you'll get married next!' or anything like that. I just really hoped it could happen. I really do like that girl, but I know she doesn't feel the same.
A while passes and the music turns slow. Multiple couple gather in the middle and start dancing. I make my way towards Y/N who is talking to her father, and ask her to dance.
"Oh, Laf, I'm not a very good dancer."
"Don't worry Y/N, neither am I." I pull her out onto the dance floor. The General is staring at me. Don't make a move, yet.
We start dancing. Wow, she isn't that bad of a dancer. Better than I am, at least.
I look into her eyes and admire how beautiful she is. I lean in, should I? Fuck it.
I lean in further and I kiss her.
She pulls away quickly and turns to her father, who looks angry and stunned at the same time.
"I-I should go." She turns away and runs back to her father.
I really, really fucked up.
The general shoots me death look. He's pissed, I can tell.
I walk back over to Alex, who was watching the whole thing while he was dancing with his wife. I put my head in my hands in shame.
"C'mon buddy, it'll be okay!" He gives me a motivating tone. "We're gonna have a little party at the bar with the guys and Y/N." It's going to be fun!"
"Yeah... fun."
