I could compare you,
my love,
to many beautiful things.
The wine-dark velvet petals
of the rare rose in the golden spring.
The moon, who's light
Shines through her scars.
The sun, with her aureate flames
Bringing warmth into my world.
But, I'd hate to be cliche.
So instead,
I shall compare you to a book, my love.
You are timeless,
with your words that are forever in my mind.
You hold within you wonderful worlds,
taking me on fantasy journeys as old as time.
You possess my memories,
within the pages of your inimitable personality
and your boundless heart.
You are something I can return to
when I am lost in the great journey of life,
seeking sage advice or uplifting prose.
You are my solace,
my joy,
my heart.
You are my book.
