Lucas stared at Leila, feeling unamused.
"That's not what I asked you to say. I'm willing to risk everything to be with you."
He sounded so confident that Leila wanted to let everything go and just stay in his arms. She looked into his eyes which was full of determination. He was definitely not willing to let go of her.
She grabbed onto his shirt and placed her head into his chest. She could not hide her feelings any longer and let her tears flow.
Lucas knew she was crying but he was rather calm. He did not push her away from his chest or asked her any further questions. He just hugged her tightly and brushed her hair with his fingers, trying to soothe her. He knew that was the answer she gave. And that meant she was also in love with him. And that was all he needed to know.

After Leila had finally relaxed, she wiped her tears and glared at Lucas who was grinning cheekily.
"How could you use my weakness to get what you want?"
He just shrugged his shoulders and hummed. His grin was getting wider and wider, feeling more and more confident.
She rolled her eyes and laughed it off. She did feel better after letting it out although she still felt the need to make sure he does not get hurt at all. She noticed Lucas looking at her worriedly so she assured him that nothing was wrong by giving him a warm smile.
Lucas observed the room and noticed that all the mirrors at least had a crack. He realized how much Leila hated the way she looked based on all these shattered glasses.
He glanced over at her and she looked extremely beautiful as always. "You are very beautiful, my angel," he told her as he tucked her hair behind her ear.
It had been long since Leila had been called an Angel. It had been long since she had been recognized for who she was and she loved the sound of it.
She coughed and pretended like it meant nothing to her.
"You always say that."
He put his forehead against her and smiled. "And I mean it," he whispered into her ear softly. He could feel Leila's face burning hot and he loved it.
She cleared her throat and pushed his forehead away from her using her forefinger. She straightened herself and tilted her head.
"Do you have anything else you want to ask?"
He scratched his nose and nodded. He had plenty of questions to ask. He wrecked his brain in order to decide what to ask first. After finally making up his mind, he looked at her.
"Why did you build that watch shop?"
She blinked her eyes after hearing his question and wondered why he was curious about it.
"Well, I have always been curious of how watches are made in human world so I made them here and kept it as a collection," she answered him. Then, she raised her eyebrow as she asked him why he was curious about it.
He rubbed the back of his neck and gave out a small laugh.
"Well, I just wanted to know everything about you."
Then, he looked at his watch and showed it to her.
"So, this used to belong to Tyler? Why did you give it to me?"
"Well, it was the only human watch other than mine that I can control the time of. So using that watch, you can meet me and I won't get caught like last time."
She explained everything patiently and he actually felt bad about it. But he just wanted to know everything about her and he wanted to hear it directly from the person herself. He was eager to learn more.
He thought of what she meant by last time and remembered the time when she screamed in pain and he was almost choked to death by Aaron.
"Was that pain due to-" he asked but hesitated. Leila knew exactly what he was asking. She nodded as an answer.
"It was because the time was up and my pills had worn off. There is a limit to what I can do without my wings."
Lucas nodded as he understood what she meant.
"I still have more questions though."
He glanced at her to check her reaction. She chuckled and gestured him to continue.
He felt relieved and asked her who Alex was.
"He's like my sword. He attacks and defends me upon my demand as I'm currently powerless. I made him look over my watch shop while I had to perform my duty."
It was exactly what Alex said. He knew it was something more than just a bodyguard but he just stopped it there.
His questions were answered but he still had one last question which was the most important. Aaron.
However, he had been hesitating to ask her. He didn't know how to start. He bit the lower bottom of his lips and glanced over at her a couple of times which Leila had obviously noticed.
"Aaron is someone who had always been beside me. He's someone very important. I consider him as my friend even though he might not anymore. He keeps blaming himself for what had happened even though it was not like he had a choice."
Lucas stared at her blankly as he tried to process what she said. He gasped and blinked nervously as he realized that she actually answered the question he wanted to ask.
"Can you read minds?" he asked her curiously only to receive laughter as a response.
She just shrugged her shoulders and smiled at him.
Lucas pouted when she said that.
"That is not fair."
Leila messed his hair up and laughed. "Cute."
Lucas was shocked by her actions. Steam rose from the top of his head as his face burned and turned extremely red. He grinned as he was happy to hear that from her.
"You are beautiful and cute!"
Leila blinked a couple of times and turned her face to the side to hide her blush.
Her smile broke the moment she saw her reflection through the broken pieces of her mirror. She realized that this would never last forever. She realized the ending would not be a happy one but a rather painful one. She knew what she was hoping for could never come true.
"You need to leave, Lucas."
Lucas shook his head and sighed in disappointment. Leila noticed it but she couldn't let herself enjoy the moment too much. In the end, she would have to let go and Lucas would end up hurting even more. She gripped the bed sheets and looked at him in the eyes.
"Please Lucas. You need to-"
She got cut off by a kiss. He pushed his tongue through and it tasted so sweet. He parted from her lips and cupped her face.
"I love you, Leila. And no matter what, I'll not leave you. So don't say it, it pains me."
"I don't deserve such love," she said softly as she tried to hold back her tears.
Lucas pulled her towards him and embraced her with all of his love.
"You deserve all my love and I'll make sure to prove it to you," he whispered into her ear, "So, just let me in."
Leila wanted to push him away. Let him go.
But at the same time, she wanted to believe that there's hope. And maybe she might as well take a risk and break another rule to achieve her happiness that she hadn't had in a long time.
