"Why are you so happy?" Touka asked, gripping her coffee cup firmly as she noticed the wide grin on your face.

It was lunchtime, and you were still floating on a cloud from your hour with Haise. Unfortunately, his usual teaching assistant would return soon, ending your blissful time together.

"Oh, it's nothing," you replied with a smile, taking a bite of your sandwich. It was delicious, made by Touka herself, who knew just how much you loved her sandwiches.

Touka rolled her eyes. "You're a terrible liar," she said, taking another sip of her coffee before setting it down on the table you both shared.

Today, the head principal had asked all teachers to sit in the dining room with the students. No one knew why, but it added an odd tension to the usual lunch routine.

"I'm not lying," you insisted, taking another bite.

"Is it because of him?" Touka asked, subtly pointing at Haise as he walked by with a tray of food. Her brows furrowed, scrutinising him.

You sighed dramatically. "Okay, fine, you got me. But why are you looking at him like that?"

"Like what?" She asked, genuinely puzzled.

"Like you have something against him holding a tray of food," you replied, noticing she was only drinking coffee. "Aren't you hungry?"

"I had a big breakfast," she said, shaking her head.

"Breakfast was hours ago. You should eat something," you said, concerned about her eating habits. Touka rarely ate, and when she did, it always seemed like a chore.

"Look, I'm just not hungry, okay? I'll have a snack later," she said, clearly annoyed.

"A snack isn't enough. Come over to my apartment tonight, and I'll cook for you," you offered.

"If you cook for me, I'll probably die of food poisoning. So, I'll pass," she said, a hint of amusement in her voice.

"Fine. Promise you'll eat something later?"

"I promise."

"Okay." You finished your sandwich and wiped your mouth. "Thanks for making this, by the way. It was really good."

"It's no problem," she replied in her usual monotone.

Touka always maintained a stoic demeanour, brushing off compliments like they were nothing. Despite this, she had a big heart and would do anything to protect those she cared about, a trait you deeply admired.

"[Y/N]-chan, I have to go to the principal's office. He wants to discuss something important with me," she said.

"You're leaving me alone? But I have no other friends!"

Touka rolled her eyes. "Calm down, it'll only be ten minutes. Besides, you're more approachable than I am. Go make some friends."

You sighed as she got up and threw her empty coffee cup in the trash. "See you later," she said, leaving you alone at the table.
