"Aye le!
Phir aa gaya tu! Face uthake
Dum lega kya, meri jaan kha ke
Khoon choosne tu aaya khoon choosne
Bloody khooni Monday kyun aaya khoon choosne"

At Home, 7:00am
"Just one more time"
I cuddled myself in the soft and warm blanket. As I was lost in my dreamy slumber, in the background I could hear my mom, shrieking,"Get up! you're late."
I covered my face in the lovely blanket.
Khoon choosne tu aaya khoon choosne
Bloody khooni Monday kyun aaya khoon choosne... (bloody monday why have you come to suck blood.)
That was my monday morning alarm.
"Just one more time" I extended my hand out of the blanket, and snoozed the alarm for the fourth time.
As I resumed my morning sleep, something stripped me off.
"How dare you!" I jumped up.
"Mom asked me to do this....get up...get up!"
It was my younger sister khushi. She stood on the bed, with my blanket in her hands and a mischievious grin on her face.
"Oh! sorry.... I think I pissed you off sis" she sneered.
"Give my blanket back!" I shouted.
With the red blanket and the red checked school uniform, she was looking like a bull fighter. I was,of course, the bull, who wanted to hit her hard. A gruesome bullfight was about to follow, but for the timely intervention of our mother.
" Get up and take a bath" mom said (commanded).
It was Monday, 10 January,2018, 7:15 am. A bath in such cold weather was not at all inviting.
"Mom....would dry cleaning do?"I asked sheepishly.
"Absolutely not" she handed me my towel.
I reluctantly peeled off the layers of clothes I was wearing. For a few moments, I appreciated my toned belly in the bathroom mirror. "You look sexy bae" I said to myself. After such boosts of self-confidence, I splashed hot water over my cold body.
At Home, 8:15 am
I was busy braiding my hair in a french tail and mom was hurriedly packing my lunch. As usual, I was late for college.
"Why can't you wake up early?"My mom shot a typical 'Indian mom's question'.
I did not answer, I never knew the answer myself. Moreover my whole attention was focused on applying a thin layer of velvet-brown lip balm precisely over my lips.
Donning a black turtle neck sweater, an off white buttoned overcoat, blue jeans and casual sneakers, I was satisfied with my look.
"Perfect"
But there was no time to be spared. I grabbed my bag and brisked to the E-rickshaw stand.
"Dogs!"I grumbled as I encountered a street dog on my way. Sorry dog lovers, but I strongly dislike the canines, especially street dogs. And I think they reciprocate such feelings, which is evident from the fact that they come to action, every time they see me.
"That's just one dog, I will take the risk." The E-rickshaw stand was just a lane away and I had no time to take another way.
I took a deep breath, clenched my wrists and started walking confidently towards the other end of the street.
"All is well, all is well, and all is well...."
Suddenly, i heard a dog whine. I turned.
"Fck Fck Fck"
I saw two savage dogs leaping towards me. Where the hell were they hiding and what was my fault?
I screamed and kicked them. (Sorry again, dog lovers, but that was a reflex action)
The dogs were in no mood to retreat. One of them got hold of my bag. I wanted to tell him that it was an original woodland bag and a gift from my favorite aunt and he could not rip it out like that.
After such kicking and leaping, I somehow pulled my bag away from the deadly jaws, shoved the dogs aside and started running.
That was a perfect ROFL and LOL moment.I was literally running on the streets, with both hands up in the air, screaming" HELP! HELP!"
And then...came my savior.....
