22 March'18 , 11:50 am
VC office, block C"I....c.....can't.....b.....be.....believe" Inaya could not stop laughing. She was standing in front of the CCTV camera, donning a big black cape and zombie mask. The camera would show only a thick mass of chewing gum which Sid had stuck on it.
"That was fun...wasn't it?" He gave her a high five.
"Best thing ever done....feeling good now"
"Now fast.....move...or else...."
"STOP, you two!!"
Inaya's heart skipped a beat. She froze as if none other than the God of death had called her.
"What are you doing?" the rough voice sent a shiver down her spine.
The consequences of what she had done dawned upon her in that microsecond and her feet wavered from the weight of it. She couldn't dare to turn. Her frightened eyes instinctively turned towards Sid.
Sid was standing there, motionless, his gaze fixed on the chewing gums stuck on the camera.
"STOP!" The voice came closer. It was accompanied by thumps of high-soled shoes on ground "Stop! Now turn around! Quick!"
Sid turned. He saw a man in a blue and black guards' uniform holding a baton pointed at them. He looked at Inaya who was already looking at him with terrified eyes.
"TAKE THE MASK OFF" the guard said, thumping the baton on his hand.
Sid began untying his mask, his gaze shifting quickly between the guard and Inaya.
Inaya closed her eyes. She knew there was no way out. They had been caught. Now all she could do was to submit herself to the authorities and wait for a suspension. She could now imagine her dad holding the suspension letter in his hand. What would papa say? And Mumma? What about college? What if they rusticate me?
The thoughts must have been horrifying, cause when she opened her eyes, they were already spilling liquid all over her face. She could no longer breathe in that mask.
