In the middle of the courtyard a young man with black hair trains while his grandfather watches on, noting at how well his grandson is training so hard and how he's come so far in his training. His attention is drawn by the sound of approaching footsteps, and he turns to see another black-haired young man walking towards him, his red eyes glinting with untold mischief in the sun.
"You're looking well today young Keishin." The old man comments, nodding his head in respect towards the younger boy.
The young man grins, his wavy hair blowing in the soft breeze as he gives a bow in return. "Yeah I'm feeling great today Sir." He says, tucking a hand in the upper part of his robes. "How's Byakuya's training coming along?"
Both turn to watch the grey eyed heir practising his movements, a look of serious concentration on his face. "He's doing well."
Finally, Genrei Kuchiki takes a few steps towards his grandson. "Byakuya, you have a visitor."
Smiling cheerfully, Byakuya wipes the few drops of sweat from his brow. "A visitor Grandfather? who is it?"
Keishin peeks out from where he was hidden behind Genrei's body. "Hey there Byakuya." He waves with his free hand.
Immediately Byakuya's eyes brighten at the sight of his friend. "Keishin, what're you doing here?" He runs over. "Not that I don't appreciate your visits."
Keishin shrugs. "I had some free time from my own training and thought I'd stop by for a few minutes, if you don't mind sir?" He directs the last part towards the clan head.
The old man gives a quiet chuckle. "I suppose young Byakuya has earned himself a small break."
Byakuya grins, resting his practice bokken on his shoulder. "I'm surprised the Head Captain let you have time off? He's usually pretty strict with you."
The two laugh. "Oh, he's not so bad, I mean sure he's pretty stern, but he really only wants what's best for me." The two share a knowing look before laughing into their hands.
"Excuse me Byakuya but it seems you have another visitor." Genrei spoke up from behind the two. "My manor has never been so busy in one day."
Keishin nudges Byakuya in the ribs. "Ohhhhhh someone sure is popular today." He grins cheekily.
Byakuya rolls his eyes in return. "Oh shut up, who is it Grandfather?" He asks, just as someone sweeps past and removes the ribbon tying his hair back.
Keishin stifles a laugh behind a closed fist as Byakuya scowls, turning on his heel to start yelling at the one who took it. "It's good to see you Lady Yoruichi." He says the woman.
The dark purple haired woman laughs as Byakuya begins berating her for stealing his ribbon as she dances out of his reach. "Likewise, little Keishin Yamamoto." The woman moving with such catlike movements.
"Hold still Yoruichi, so I can show you what happens when you mess with me." Byakuya threatens, a dark aura appearing around him as he raises his fist.
She only laughs and moves out of his way again. "Oh lighten up kid, how embarrassing." She waves the ribbon teasingly as Byakuya's eyebrow starts twitching furiously. "The future head of the Kuchiki clan can't even stop his hair ribbon getting stolen by a girl."
Byakuya throws Keishin a hard glare as he too laughs at the situation. "You just stay right where you are Lady Yoruichi." He smiles like he has a plan. "I'm going to catch you for this."
Keishin crosses his arms with a cheeky smile on his face. "You'll never catch her Byakuya...." He stops when his own hair falls around his face, Yoruichi grinning as she vanishes to the nearby wall, wiggling the ribbons. "But I might."
It was like Yoruichi to play games with the young boys, more so often than not she picked on Byakuya exclusively as he got angrier the fastest, made it more fun for her. She didn't have enough chances to play her little games with Keishin because he spent most of his time in the Squad One barracks with his grandfather and as mischievous as she was, pulling anything in there was too much even for her. Doing so would make the Head Captain angry for distracting his grandson from his training. She was playful not stupid.
Yoruichi laughs. "Please, neither of you boys are fast enough to even dream of catching me." Again the ribbons dance as she dangles them tauntingly. "But if you feel like giving it a try, I'm always up for a quick game of tag."
In a silent agreement the boys exchange a look before vanishing from sight, a laughing Yoruichi is the only sound that can be heard as the three leave the Kuchiki compound. Genrei sighs and shakes his head.
"Both could be great assets to the Soul Society one day..." He frowns only to smile lightly. "If only they could control their tempers."
The old clan head could only shake his head as he folds his arms behind his back and retreats inside the manor. The wind was cold, and he felt it's frozen touch all too much lately. A part of him wishes that Byakuya's parents hadn't met such an end as they did, at the very least the weight of becoming the new head of the noble Kuchiki clan wouldn't have been placed on his young shoulders.
The boys never caught up with Yoruichi, where she had gone to neither of them knew, anytime they got close all they would hear is the disappearing laughter on the swirling wind. Keishin was summoned back the Squad One barracks for more training with his grandfather's lieutenant while Byakuya begrudgingly had to return home. Both got reprimanded for not being able to do something as simple as letting their tempers get the better of them and for losing yet another pair of expensive hair ribbons. Both had to go out and train until their arms were so tired they couldn't hold them up.

Hello everybody.
I've copied out the chapters from here into word, well the ones I didn't have already saved, which was most of them actually. Started the painstakingly long process of reading through them, seeing what I want to change, add etc. So here's the newly improved (I hope) prologue to HOF. Enjoy and here's hoping I have the next part edited soon. Among other all the other things I have to do.
Speaking of, my Instagram accounts have a new commission list up, I also do pet portraits for $30. I also started posting speed paints of said portraits onto my tiktok which I've renamed to my business. @ Digiart_studio.
Instagram is same as above and @ Underwxrld_god < this one I am the most active on. TT I check daily.
See you all again soon. Keep on sharing the love.
