Barry hadn't though much of the conversation he'd had with Iris the day before. His mind was more preoccupied with how to get himself out of the hole he was slowly digging for himself. So when he walked into the cortex the following morning, he wasn't expecting all his friends and Joe to be there.
Great.
Well, he should have expected this, honestly. He shouldn't have had so much faith in Iris. He knew what her nature was like and he should have expected an intervention. Don't get him wrong, he loved her on many different levels, but he also really knew her, what with growing up with her.
So there they were, his friends and loved ones, all waiting around for him to show up. Though they seemed more confused to what was going on than Barry himself.
"Uh-"
"Alright, so, as you all may have noticed, I have gathered you here. For an intervention," Iris spoke up, cutting off whatever Barry was about to say.
"For what and for whom?" Caitlyn asked, her brow raised. Well, at least someone was skeptical.
"For Barry," Iris stated. "So he can tell you all what he told me yesterday."
Why was this his life? Really, he couldn't imagine every Barry in the multiverse going through this. He was really jealous of those who's Iris didn't poke her nose into every little detail of his life. She was a great journalist, but she really needed to keep in mind to not push boundaries and use her skills to dig into their private lives.
Sadly, Barry couldn't worm his way out of this one. His friends and Joe still looked confused, but they also had started to show a mild interest and curiosity to what was going on.
"Barry?" Iris prompted him, giving him a sharp and unrelenting look. She wasn't going to back down, that was for sure.
Barry sighed. "Well, I'm uh- I'm bisexual," he told them all, scratching his neck sheepishly. He didn't think they would start hating him for it. No, they would all be understanding in their own ways, but open support was something else. Something he kind of wanted, because coming out of them was something that put him in a vulnerable position.
"You- That's- Oh wow. Did not see that one coming." Cisco started. "But I mean, it's totally okay of course. " he rambled on.
Harry and Joe had kind of similar reactions, just a little more stoic. Caitlyn, however, hugged him and told him she was proud of him for telling them. Barry bit back the comment that Iris basically forced him to, because Caitlyn was being a really amazing friend right now.
"You sure about this Bar?" Joe asked him. His look said enough. Barry knew he was fine with it, even if Barry wasn't sure and just experimenting, he just didn't want his son to get hurt. There were a lot of not so accepting people out there after all.
Barry just nodded, understanding why he asked.
Of course, that heartfelt moment just had to be ruined by Iris being Iris, exclaiming that he had a crush on a guy.
