Mizushina Yume

Thursday.
Then there's tomorrow and then I can finally have my weekend.

Today, however, was quiet different.

Izanami has asked me to do an errand for her. And this errand is quite odd even for me.

She asked me to search for a certain person in the old school building.

Before my school was built, it used to be some kind of cram school with only two floors. But ever since the new school opened, the cram school was forced to shut down. Though it's very old, some students go there for club activities or for those clubs who don't have clubrooms.

And today, I'm checking the literature club.

Not many people are into literature. Personally, I like any kinds of books. Fiction or nonfiction, modern or old, doesn't matter. As long as it tells a good story, I wouldn't mind anything.

The smell of old wood and dust spread through the air. The sound of the floor and doors creaking made it look like a haunted place. Of course, there were rumors that this place was indeed haunted. But a haunted cram school is nothing compared to the things I do with Izanami.

And trust me, you don't want to know.

Anyways, I continued. Izanami told me that the literature club was on the second floor, at the end of the hallway.

I climbed the stairs to the second floor but then I retreated. The stairs were unstable and risky. One step and I'll fall. I hesitated as I tried to think my way to the second floor. What should I do? If I take this path, then I might as well hurt myself.

I looked around the first floor. I tried to look for some item or an emergency staircase but nothing. I couldn't find anything, not even an emergency staircase. I was hoping that I'll at least find a rope, but I didn't get anything good either.

I came back to the stairs. I stared at it. I placed my foot on the first stair. As I pressed my shoe against the old wood, it creaked. I was unsteady, but I'm sure it's strong enough to keep me on my feet until I reach the top.

No choice. I have to make a run for it.

As I clenched my fists and teeth, I ran upstairs. I ran as fast as I could before the wood could break. Just when I was only had one step left, the wood below me cracked and broke.

Oh no.

I felt my feet and ankle getting dragged into the hole. I tried to help myself but grabbing on the rail but my ankle got stuck in the hole.

"Here," a voice said.

I looked up and saw a guy on top of the stairs. He reached his hand out in order to save me.

Who is he?

He seemed unfamiliar though he wore the school's uniform. His hair was a really dark brown color, in which was almost black. He had glasses and black eyes. But who is he?
