The ball was crowded with guests, some from the kingdom and some from the other kingdoms. The colorful dresses swirling around the room made the gold pattern floor and white walls stand out. Names were being called out by the Herald. He called out their names and what kingdom they were from. There were small circle tables all around the inside perimeter of the room. The Jewel Leaf family was sitting at a huge table in front of the big glass windows along the opposite walls of the stairs, with the other royal families from the other kingdoms. It was split into two parts, there was a side for the princes and princesses and another for the kings and queens. Everyone was there, except two seats were empty, Princess Grace's seat, she was either missing or perhaps she was still getting ready and Erin was probably with Grace.

Edward was sitting next to Nick at the table.

"Nicholas?" Nick turned to who called his name, it was his father.

"Yes, Father?" Nick asked.

"Where is your sister?" Joseph responded.

"I think she's still getting ready, or," Nick replied, holding in a smirk. "She's going to make a grand entrance."

"Probably," Joseph shrugged at his son's remark. "Do you want to bet on it?"

Nick's eyes widened at his father's question. "Father!? Are you serious!?"
Joseph nodded. "Sure, why not? You first."

"Let's bet...25 bendorias," Joseph said.

"You're on,"

Bendorias are a type of money, it's the second to highest amount. The top is a Hisfotonic, these a rare to find they aren't the everyday objects, it's 50 bendorias. Then a bendoria is 45 shinkles, a shinkle is 15 discontals, a discontal is 10 axworths.

Music started to play. The couples started to dance, all the young ladies who came alone was looking at all the available princes longingly and trying to get there attention. He smiled at them and they squealed in delight.

"Oh wow," Nick said to Edward. "I've never seen the girls at village act like this before."

"Maybe it's because they've never been at a ball before and they could get a chance to dance with you or one of us." He gestured towards the other princes including himself, then he smirked. "Or it's because I'm here,"

"Sure," Nick said sarcastically, rolling his eyes as he said so.

While they were talking to the other royals at the table. They heard gasps from the crowd. Lucas stood up urgently from his seat. Some had stopped dancing, but they all were looking at the stairs.

At the top, a beautiful girl stood. She was wearing a dress with colors of fire, oranges, reds, and yellows.

"Woah," Nick said.

"How about you go ask her for a dance," A familiar voice said.

"Huh?" Nick turned to the voice, it was Lucas, he was leaning against the column near the table, smirking, and bouncing an bright green apple in his hand.

"I said go ask her for a dance," Lucas said, taking a bite of the apple.

"But I don't even know her!" Nick exclaimed.

"We'll go get to know her then!" Lucas said after swallowing his bite of the apple. "Before she's taken!"

"Okay! Sheesh," Nick walked away from his friend and towards the crowd of people, those who stopped dancing moved away to make a pathway, and those who were dancing stopped and stepped back. Just as he was almost at the stairs he halted as he heard the girl's name.
