They trudged through the forest, the four of them had walked into, it had been an hour since they had left Scarleen at the campsite. Unlike most forests in Jewel Leaf, there were no dead leaves on the ground or barely any leaves on the ground in that matter, and the grass was quite green. The forest would’ve seemed absolutely wonderful if it wasn’t so dark and there wasn’t the feeling of someone watching them.

The group had been walking for at least an hour.

“Where are we even going?” Grace questioned.

“I don’t know…” Lucas answered.

“Uh...didn’t we already pass that tree?” Nick asked as he bent down to avoid the lowered branch that was lowered in height than them.

“Uhm…” Grace bent down to avoid it as well. “Maybe…?”

“Guys we may be going in circles…” Lucas said.

They heard paper crumple behind them, they turned to see Erin putting a piece of paper in her in her cloak.

“Sis? What’s that?” Lucas asked, he stopped walking.

“Oh, it’s noth-” Erin’s eye caught her marked wrist and she stopped talking as her eyes widened in shock.

“Erin?” Nick walked over to her. “You alright?”

“The-the compass on the marking...it’s moving!”

“What?” Grace asked worriedly. She and Lucas walked over to her. Erin held her wrist out for them to see the mark. She was indeed right, the compass on her marking was spinning like an actual compass.

“What the…” Grace started.

“Does it hurt?” Lucas asked cutting Grace off.

“No, surprisingly,” Erin answered.

“Should we follow to where it leads?” Grace inquired.

“Wouldn’t it just lead north?” Nick asked. “Like all compasses?”

Lucas pulled out his own compass from his pocket and flipped it open. He watched it spin until it stopped and looked at Erin’s wrist then the compass again. “No, my compass points north, the compass on Erin's wrist points a different way,"

“Oh,''Erin said looking down at the marking worriedly.

“So should we follow it?” Grace asked.

“I guess so…” Lucas said. “Since we have nowhere else to go,” He gestured for Erin to lead the way, she stepped ahead and led the way as she looked at her wrist, Nicholas walked next to her.

“Lucas?” Grace said softly. “Are we lost?”

“No, I just have no idea where we are going,” He answered.

“Thanks,” Grace said with a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

“I didn’t say it sarcastically, Grace,”

“Then why didn’t you just say we are lost?”

“Because I sometimes don’t like admitting what’s true,”

“Oh,” Grace said. “I can understand...sort of…”

“Sort of?” Lucas questioned raising an eyebrow.

“I don’t know,” Grace said. “I just know what you mean, and I do know how you feel,”

“Do you now? And how’s that?”

“Well I mean I’m not even able to pick up an arrow in Jewel Leaf. And I don’t like admitting that I will never be able to without being called out on it, or have anyone not disappointed in me,”
