Scarleen's face turned a light pink. "Hi..."
"What-how-huh!?" Nick gaped.
"I'm sorry, this was the easiest way to tell you..." Scarleen answered. "I wasn't sure if you would have believed me if I had come up and told you..."
"That's why your necklace looked so familiar..." Grace said.
"Yes," Scarleen answered.
"How did you become like this?" Erin asked.
"It's not really anything different, or something that has happened to me, well actually it is different, sort of. But it's normal in my species, in my species we're all a certain, er, creature... and can become humans, obviously, and any type of animal that we want,"
"Cool," Lucas said.
"Oh no, Lucas we're not going through this again," Nick rolled his eyes.
"What?" Grace asked.
"When Nick showed us the treehouse, Lucas kept saying cool over and over again," Erin explained.
"Of course he did," Grace smiled.
"Hey!" Lucas exclaimed, crossing his arms. Everyone but him started to laugh.
"I think it may start to rain," Scarleen said.
Everyone but Scar, looked up to the sky, there were a few grey clouds in the dark starry night sky, and the full moon lit up the darkness just ever so slightly. A slight breeze rustled the trees making the forest scenery perfect.
"You know, it's quite beautiful out here than the castle. The trees, the sky, no lights, barely a sound," Erin said.
"Yes," Grace agreed. "And Scarleen, you may be right, it is a bit cloudy though, how do you know?"
"I can sense it a bit," Scarleen replied.
"Well, I'm not gonna say anything against that, so maybe we should go to the tree house," Lucas said.
"Sure, we could do that," Grace answered. "But could you guys help me pack? So it goes faster?" Scarleen, Erin, Nick, and Lucas nodded.
About an hour later they were all walking back on the path, and each was holding something. Nick was holding the weapons, Erin was holding the bag she brought when they had gone to look for Grace, Lucas was holding some of the blankets, Grace was holding her bag of food and books, and Scarleen turned herself back into a wolf after she healed herself, she was carrying the rest of the blankets on her back, and her dagger Grace had found earlier today. She always had a small bag she kept with her, when Grace asked what was in it, Scarleen had told her she would tell her later.
It was a dark path and night, but thanks to the full moon it lit the path. It was warm and the soft spring breeze made the air brisk.
Lucas walked next to Grace. "Grace?"
"Yes, Lucas?" She answered.
''You're not going to run away again, right?"
"I don't think so,"
"You know I'll go after you, all three of us would, and Scarleen too, if she wants to,"
"That's sweet, really, but I wouldn't want you all to get in trouble for me,"
"Grace, do really think we're going to let you leave out of nowhere and live in the woods or anywhere you go next?"
"No..." Grace said. "Lucas?"
"Yes?"
"Why do you call me princess, then Grace, then princess again?"
"I don't know, Princess,"
