"Ty-ty!!
Ty-ty calling!!
...
"Ty-ty!!-"Shut up"
"Ty-ty calling" the annoying robotic ringtone continued.
Roaming my hand around the side table I canceled the call, only for it to ring again.
"What on the earth do you want?" I answered the call.
"Good Morning to you too." An awfully cheerful voice replied back. Cringing at it, I put the phone on speaker.
"Why are you calling Tyler?" I asked him, still half asleep."It's 8:15 am of Monday morning, date 8 January 2018. The weather outside is bright as it could be-"
"I don't need weather forecast, Thank you," I replied and was about to cut the call when he said
"-but it would be dark and cloudy for someone if she didn't show up at the meeting on time." My brain freezes for a second then it starts recalling the call I got from my grandfather a day before yesterday afternoon.
"Hello! Hera-bear, How are you doing? " My granddad asked as soon as I picked his call.
"Good Afternoon! Captain, I'm doing good." I replied as I scrolled the grocery trolley out of the target store.
"Just done with grocery shopping. What's up?" I asked him."How having your own law firm sounds to you?" He asked.
"It sounds like one of the things I wrote down on my bucket list," I replied, little curious as to why would he ask.
"Well, Hera-bear it's time for you to scratch it, as on Monday you are getting one." He informed excitedly, I abruptly stopped in the middle of the road.
'Wait. What?'
"Hello? Hera you there?"
A horn blared from behind. I quickly crossed the road and made my way towards my car.
"Yeah...sorry. I didn't get you there, What do you mean by my own law firm?" I asked him.
"You know Deighton empire?"
"Yes."
"They recently owned a new building and shifting a few floors from the old one to new. So being a good friend, a client of our firm and investor with Deighton's, they offered us a few floors from the old building. And we were planning to expand our branch and owning a floor or two, depending on negotiation. As you have graduated from law school and is already a partner with the firm, it's time for you to branch out and have your own law firm." He explained.
"Oh crap! You are serious." I exclaimed.
"As I ever could be." He said.
"Grandpa, as much as this sound alluring, I can't," I said before he could interject. I explained myself. "It's not like I don't believe in myself, but I want to build a firm with my own potential, investment, and a few more years experience would be great," I told him.
"I understand you. But I'm an old man, I want to see every children of mine settled before my eyes closed forever. Won't you want your captain to rest in peace. This firm would be solely yours if you want and as you want. Just humor with me on this. The place we would be buying is rare to get." He assured me. Damn him for using emotional card on me.
"You are not dying anytime soon, stop saying that." I grumbled.
"Alright!" After moment of silence I gave my answer. "But I'm only agreeing to visit the place.'
