Olive's pov
"Is your sister here yet?" Max questioned as I held my hand on the railing to the carpeted steps, slowly making my way to the floor of the auditions. I nodded, "She should be, she said she was on her way about fifteen minuets ago." I placed my foot, one in front of the other, being careful not to miss a step. My legs shook with anticipation, and tears slowly began to form in my eyes. "It's going to be okay, Olive. You'll be fine," Sam assured me, grabbing a hold of my arm, balancing me. I smiled gratefully at him. "I don't know, Sam. I'm probably not that great of a singer compared to everyone else in this building. May's even better than me." Sam stood still, letting people push past him as they filed their way up the stairs, toward the audition holding room. His hand did not leave my arm, and for that I was grateful, because I would've already fallen without it. "Your going to do great, okay?" He spoke, his voice soft enough to make me melt. "Enough with the lovey-dovey stuff, guys. Let's find some seats when we can," Lou remarked. Sam lifted his fingers from my arm, though he still barely kept his fingers against my skin, sending goosebumps down my arm. I placed one of my black flat covered feet on the next step, and continued to do so. When our five pairs of feet hit the top of the staircase, my mouth fell open in shock. Pulling my hand up to cover it, I held in a gasp. The room was absolutely huge. Tables lined the walls, where people sat dressed in blue, while hundreds of chairs filled the inside of the room. Many were already filled, and I wondered how I'd be able to find a seat next to Sam, or even May. I searched the room, my eyes scanning each person. Guitars sat against chairs, anxious family members waiting eagerly for their grandson, granddaughter, brother, sister, to step out of the audition room holding a golden ticket. After much difficulty, we finally managed to find five seats together, Sam patting the chair beside him, where I moved to sit. On his left sat Lou, and beside him Max and Skyler. "Where's May going to sit when she gets here?" I asked Sam. "One of the guys can get up and stand, since they're not auditioning," he replied. Max looked at me and crossed his arms. "I'm not standing up for anyone." Lou rolled his eyes, looking over at me "I'll stand for her, don't worry about it." I smiled at him, "Thank you." I felt my phone buzz against my skin, and I picked it up from my knee.May:
Where are you?I looked around the room, before Sam spoke what my mind was trying to find. "Section B3." I nodded my thanks at him, and typed it down, sending the message. People stood in lines in front of the tables, waiting what seemed to be impatiently for their number tags. I caught the vision of bouncing blonde curls out of the corner of my eye, and saw May coming towards us. "Finally, you're here," I commented, standing up. May had the stupidest grin on her face as she reached us. "Sorry I kinda got delayed." I nodded and May glanced at our seating arrangement. "I'll get up. May, you can have my chair," Lou said, getting to his feet. May shook her head. "No, it's okay. I can sit with some other people that I met." I stared at May in confusion and disbelief, who had she met? "May!" she turned around, her blonde curls bouncing. My jaw dropped down whenever I saw who called her name. The person looked like he was in his late teens, with a dark faux Mohawk and skinny jeans. He was pretty tall compared to May, and especially compared to me. "Hi?" I told the boy, question and confusion dancing all over my words as they slid off my tongue. "Hey, I'm Colton," he said, stepping forward, offering his hand to me to shake. "I'm Olive," I said, slowly, accepting his hand. "Nice to meet you, Olive. I found you sister in the parking lot, and she seemed as if she needed help, so I helped her into the building." I cocked an eyebrow up, nodding slowly. "Do you wanna come sit with Schyler, May, and I?" Schyler, was Schyler his girlfriend? I nodded, knowing May would probably want me to be there with her. "Yea, sure, I-" I stopped myself, looking behind me at Sam. I bit my lip, looking back up at May. "I sort of already told Sam I'd sit with him." May didn't seem bothered that I said I would sit with Sam. "I figured that, Olive. I'll be fine sitting with Colton." I nodded as a girl with bright red hair appeared beside Colton. "Can May and I go to the food court since you're busy talking, Colt?" Schyler looked a lot like him, so I was guessing it was his sister. Colton rolled his eyes. "I'm coming with you guys if we're going. I'm hungry too." May turned her back to me, being pulled away from me by Schyler. Colton went with them, leaving me behind without saying a word. Without even leaving me with a good luck, or inviting me to come with them. I slowly sat back down in my chair, trying to let what had happened settle down into my brain, and more importantly, my heart. "Well, May seems to have made some friends," Sam remarked, watching them go. I actually saw May laugh at something Colton said and it blew my mind. "She just left, she didn't even say anything to me." I spoke to Sam, hurt in my voice. "Olive, Schyler dragged her off before she could say anything to you. It wasn't May's fault," Sam assured me. I nodded, trying to assure myself that was it. May wasn't ignoring me. She just didn't get a chance to say anything. I couldn't let myself believe it, May has been the only person I've had most of my life, she'd at least wish me luck at my audition, wouldn't she? Sam grabbed my hand in a friendly manner, seeing the worried look on my face, "Come on, we got auditions to register for."
