Disclaimer: This chapter takes place during Christmastime, I wanted the reveal to be very special, even though it's late January... I hope you love it like I do nonetheless my Bookworms!
Anne stood up tall, clasping her hands together as the crowd roared and cheered. The show was beautiful nonetheless. Phillip spotted her in the bleachers and smiled blowing a kiss at her as he bowed, sweat beading down his forehead as he walked off the stage.
Anne ran backstage, wrapping Phillip in a warm embrace. "You did so amazingly wonderful Phillip!"
Phillip placed a hand on her cheek, stroking it as he leaned in, kissing her softly on the lips. Anne kissed him back, wrapping her arms around his waist. Anne wanted to stay like that forever when they were interrupted by Damian who had a malic expression on.
"Why weren't you on stage today?" Damian demanded, pointing a finger at her.
"I'm ill," Anne said stiffly, glaring at him as she placed a hand on Phillip's chest. "Not that any of that should be of your concern."
Damian frowned, his face contorted as she shoved past her, whispering something in her ears. "Someday..."
Anne shuddered at the words. Phillip frowned, taking his bag and taking Anne by the waist. "Don't worry about him. He'll be gone soon."
Somehow, Anne didn't believe those words.
***
Phillip lay in bed, searching around the mattress for Anne. When he was sure she wasn't in bed, he got up, squinting as the curtains shone in his blue eyes. He stepped out of bed, looking at his bedside table and seeing a letter with Anne's handwriting on it.
Meet me at the Christmas tree after you find the three letters.
- Anne
Phillip tilted his head in confusion. Probably one her of silly Christmas jokes again. He chuckled, this time he was going to tag along. He followed the trail of red ribbon into the bathroom, reading the note. All it had was the word You're. Odd. A trail of green ribbon attached to the note led him to their closet. The next word was A. Phillip rolled his eyes.
"Is this some sort of word scramble Anne?" Phillip teased, chuckling to himself. He picked up the note and followed the trail of white ribbon that led him down to the kitchen, he descended downstairs when Anne spoke,
"Don't look! Close your eyes!" Anne screeched as he made his way downstairs.
Phillip jumped, shutting his eyes closed as he cautiously walked down the stairs, walking into a wall before he reached the kitchen counter, facing away from the living room where Anne sat patiently. Phillip opened the letter, reading the word Father. His curious smile faltered, he took the rest of the notes out of the pockets of his pajamas and combined them.
You're A Father
Phillip's hand trembled, he looked over at Anne, who had tears in her eyes and her arms outstretched for him. He gasped, smiling as he ran over to hug her. Anne smiled, letting out what sounded like a laugh and a sob. Phillip held her waist, their faces red and their elated smiles filling up the whole room. Phillip kissed her on the forehead, beaming with pride and happiness.
"How long have you known?" Phillip asked in a soft voice as he wiped the tears from his face to look down at her, stroking her cheek tenderly.
"Yesterday," Anne chuckled, her eyelashes wet and her smile contagious. "That's why I couldn't perform yesterday."
Phillip was speechless with no words. He kissed her lips over and over again until their lips were red and their tears were dry. "Anne...I can't believe it! Y-you're pregnant! Anne, we're going to be a family!"
Anne laughed, nodding as he danced and pranced around the room with such happiness. Phillip put one hand on her waist and the other one on her hand, slow dancing as Phillip twirled her around. Phillip looked down at her flat stomach and kneeled down on one knee, placing his ear on her belly. Anne smiled as she looked down at two of the most important people in her life.
"Hey there..." Phillip said softly, kissing her belly. "I'm so excited to meet you. I love you so much, you and your mother are the greatest beings in my life, I think you should know that too."
Phillip looked up at Anne, who's eye watered yet again. "That was beautiful, sweetie. I love you so much."
Phillip placed his forehead on Anne's stroking her cheek as Anne pointed up at the ceiling.
Mistletoe.
Phillip chuckled, she had her plan all figured out. He closed his eyes, his hands gently put on her back as he pushed her closer until their noses were touching. Anne reached up and wrapped an arm around his neck, pulling him closer.
Their moment quickly ended as the doorbell rang. Anne turned and ran over to open it when Phillip caught her arm, sliding her hand under his arm. They walked together to the front door, and in came Lettie, W.D, and all the other oddities other than Damian. Anne beamed at them as they each held Christmas gifts and baby clothes and bibs. Phillip stared at each of them with wide eyes.
"Was this your plan?" Phillip asked, looking at Anne with interest and disbelief.
"All of it," Anne smiled, leaning on him as they let the oddities in. "For you–she looked down at her belly–and this young one."
Phillip smiled at her, he grabbed both her hands and held her close, enjoying her company and their beloved baby. "Thank you. Both of you."
