۵Paris's POV
I wake up alone in mine and Ashton's room. I hear Zane and Ashton's voices in the livingroom and I feel Eudora's presence with them, but she's not speaking.
If I would've just kept my mouth shut about the miscarriage.
I thought she needed to know. I thought she deserved to. I thought Zane deserved to know as well.
I was wrong.
It's all my fault.
I'm starting loose hope that she will ever be herself again.
I guess what you don't know, really can't hurt you.
Clarissa was right.
I should've listened.
I told you so.
Screw up.
I decide to try to push the horrible thoughts from my mind once again. I guess I'll just keep pushing them away until I can't handle it anymore.
Until it breaks me.
Eventually it will.
It's all my fault that she's sad and in pain.
Why do I have to be such a screw up?
Push it away.
The voices are right.
Push it away. Save it for later.
Put on your happy face. Put on your mask.
Make them all believe the role you play because you're an actress.
That's my job.
They love you, that's all the matters.
Do they?
My thoughts are broken by Zane walking in my room and shutting and locking the door. That's strange.
"How may I help you, good sir?" I ask as I sit up in the bed.
He looks at me before chuckling a little and walking over to me. "Tell me what's going on."
I furrow my eyebrows a little, "What?"
I am an actress.
"Something is wrong with Eudora, and you know what it is." He states.
I sigh a little and shake my head. "I can't tell you that."
"Why not?" He questions.
"It's not my place to." I state, looking to up to face his pleading eyes.
"Eudora won't tell me. She won't tell me anything." He speaks before looking at the floor.
I sigh before looking away and apologizing softly, "I'm sorry."
"Why are you apologizing?" He asks.
"It's complicated." I whisper. He nods as he grabs tge door handle to walk out.
"Wait." I state.
He turns around and looks at me, raising one eyebrow. His eyes look hopeful that I might answer the questions that he's begging to know.
"If you want to help her, tell her that you know she's hiding something. Let her know that you care about her and you want to support her through everything she goes through. When she's happy or sad."
He nods before his eyes dart away from mine and stare at the ground. We stand there in silence as I study his body language for anything. Anything at all.
His eyes slowly meet mine and I notice the sadness in them.
"Thank you." He says softly. I nod a little.
"Do you think she'll tell me?" He asks.
"I don't know for sure." I say sadly.
He nods a little before turning to leave.
"Everything will be ok." I say, trying to reassure him. But, I don't truly know if they ever will.
He looks over his shoulder at my eyes before leaving the room.
I stand up and walk over to Solara's cage. Solara is my snake that Eudora, Sage, Ashton, Zane, and Cloud got me for my birthday. I love her so much. She's like my child.
I pick her up and she wraps around my arm, slithering up to my shoulder. I smile at her and run my finger over the top of her head. I hear footsteps suddenly stop behind me.
I didn't even realize someone was in here until now, probably because I was distracted.
"Oh no, the snake is out." I hear a voice that identifies as Ashton's. I laugh and turn around to face him, but he stumbles backwards when the snake gets closer to him.
۵Ashton's POV
Sage and Cloud are coming over today. So are some of their friends that they wanted all of us to meet. We're all going out to eat at the diner.
I hear the door bell ring, signaling that they are here. Zane walks over to open the door and I hear voices fill the air.
I walk over to greet them but I freeze in shock.
Ruby.
She's here.
Her eyes meet mine but she doesn't recognize me, she just looks at me a bit confused by the way I'm looking at her.
I hear voices speaking but don't know what they're saying. Although I feel a glare being shot at me by the guy standing beside her.
"Ruby?" I ask. She nods a little, turning her head in confusion.
"Remember me?" I ask when I feel a hand on my arm. It's Paris's but I'm so stunned by seeing Ruby.
"Am I suppose to. . ?" She asks hesitantly.
"It's me, Ashton." I state. A look of realization comes through her eyes but she quickly hides it.
"Remember! You saved me when I jumped off the cliff! You were in your wolf form! You caught me!" I yell, trying to make her see that it's me, totally forgetting to keep the werewolf thing a secret.
She gasps and steps back against the wall. I feel all the shocked and stunned eyes on me. Like, I have revealed the secret everyone was hiding.
The only eyes on me that are not stunned are Zane's. He's looking at me like I'm crazy.
I probably do sound crazy.
