۵Eudora's POV
"Sage!" I yelled as I walked into his apartment, having let myself in since he had told me that I could.
"Eudora!" He yelled back from the kitchen, and I walked in it, seeing him sitting on the counter, staring down at his tablet in his hands. His mom stood beside the stove, and I walked over, giving her hugs before walking over to Sage, grabbing his tablet and handing him mine.
"Hey! I wasn't done yet!" I laughed, handing it back but leaving mine in his lap. I turned back to his mom.
"How have you been?" She asked, glancing over at me from her cooking. I shrugged leaning against the counter beside her.
"Good," I answered, looking at Sage when he put his tablet beside me before he started looking on mine. "What about you?" I asked, looking back up at his mom.
"Stressed because of crazy one, and crazy two," she said, laughing and shaking her head. I caught Sage sticking his tongue out at her in the corner of my eye and started laughing. "Oh! Sage told me that you and Paris have boyfriends."
"Actually, I have a boyfriend, Paris has a fiancé," she looked over to me smiling. I only frowned.
"You don't like him, do you?" She asked and Sage looked over at us. I shook my head.
"It's not that," I spoke, watching Sage with a raised brow, he shrugged. "I just can't get myself to trust him." She nodded, turning off the stove and moving around as she walked to the sink to drain whatever she was cooking.
"I don't get how you can't, he's cool," Sage said, but I shook my head. I grabbed his tablet and looked through it as we continued the conversation.
"That's the thing. To everyone else, he's cool and this and that," I said, catching Mariana watching me, "to me, he was still a player and I'm waiting for him to screw up."
"People change, Eudora," Cloud said, walking in and I looked at him.
"Not always, Cloud," I said, mimicking his voice. He shook his head.
"I think they do," he spoke and I looked back down at the tablet in my hands.
"And that, is a reason why some people are too naive," I said. "They trust too much before getting themselves hurt and then blaming others and claiming the person had changed."
"I thought you were the one that trusted easily, not your sister," Mariana said and I shrugged.
"My trust only goes so far," I answered, putting all the parts of Sage's animation together before playing it through.
"I don't think I'm naive," Cloud mumbled, walking past everyone and to the fridge, grabbing a water from it. Mariana laughed and Sage shook his head, still working on my tablet.
"I think everyone's a bit naive," Sage said, looking up at me specifically, "even if they don't want to be."
I rolled my eyes. "Anyways, I just don't trust him yet," I said, going back to the main point of the conversation. Sage looked at me.
"I think you should," he said, shrugging as he handed my tablet back to me and I handed his to him.
"I think that I don't have to," I said, looking down at my tablet before cutting it off and laying it on the counter.
"I think you will have to if Paris is going to be marrying him," Cloud said, wiggling his eyebrows and making me glare.
"Change of subject," I said, before looking at Mariana, "you have to come to our apartment by the end of this weekend." She nodded, laughing as she shook her head.
"Maybe Mom can scare Ash off since you're so worried about it," Sage said before laughing. I shook my head as I looked at Mariana.
"What classes are you taking, Eudora?" She asked, looking over at me. I shrugged.
"At the moment just art and filmography," I said, looking at Cloud as he pulled out papers and started writing on them. Sage leant over the table, looking at the pages and seeming to read whatever Cloud wrote.
"I thought for sure that you were going to be doing things to do with singing by how you acted as a child," she said, laughing at the memories.
"Paris studies music and performance," I said, looking at my feet. "My parents kind of ruined that for me when I got older, they used Paris and I to get more money as always." Sage looked over at me, a look of hatred in his eyes, and I was glad I knew it wasn't towards me.
"Speaking of them, by the way," I said, looking at Sage, "they're coming to town at some point in the next couple of weeks, so if I tell you not to come over, you know why." He nodded, looking back at the pages in front of Cloud.
"I don't get how your parents are so evil," Mariana said, shaking her head. "I wouldn't be able to have an evil bone in my body." I smiled, looking over at her.
"I'd be glad that I wouldn't have to worry about not having money for my child," she said, bringing a hand to her chest.
"That's the difference though," I said, turning and grabbing my tablet. "You actually care about your child, whereas they had two to just use for their business."
"I will never like those parents of yours," she said, grabbing plates and utensils from the cabinet. My phone vibrated, and I looked down to see a text from Zane.
"I'd love to stay longer, but I have to get home," I said, starting to walk to the door, "see you all later!"
I walked out the door and downstairs, beginning on my way back to the apartment. I looked up at the sky, thinking as I barely paid attention to where I was going, allowing my instincts to guide me.
"Eudora!" I looked at Paris as I shut the door. I smiled at her before yawning. I hadn't slept in days and I was glad that I hadn't shown any sign of sleepiness at Sage's.
"Paris!" I yelled, making her laugh. I walked to the table, placing my tablet in my satchel bag that rested on it.
"Guess what," Paris said, pulling me towards the bedrooms. I raised an eyebrow to her.
"What?" I asked, looking around as she pulled me into my own room. I saw Kona laying on the bed, looking at us bored. Herb and Pige barked from the hall.
"I has gotten you a present!" She said and I raised another brow to her.
"What's that?" I asked, but she just pushed me to the bathroom. I was completely confused.
"It's called, get ready for bed then sleep," she said, smiling as she left the bathroom and the bedroom.
"Thanks, Mom!" I called, laughing as I got a shower ready for myself. I heard Paris's laughter before a 'you're welcome' echoed through.
