once jimin woke up he expected to see his boyfriend laying on the bed beside him but he was wrong. instead he woke up to an empty bed with nothing but a piece of paper on it. jimin's eyebrows furrowed together as he reached his hand out to pick up the piece of paper which was filled with handwriting that jimin recognised as yoongi's.
off to rehearsals. didn't wanna wake you up. ask someone to show you the way to the venue. (your id card is on the coffee table) love you.
- yoongs
jimin smiled as he sat the paper back dow, throwing himself back down on the bed. he stretched his arms out, a yawn escaping his mouth as he done so. the orange hair glanced around the hotel room that he would be staying in for the next 3 nights before they moved to another part of china for the last 2 tour dates that jimin would be attending before he had to go home. yoongi had informed him that tomorrow wasa rest day which meant the boys could do whatever they wanted to do, which excited jimin because he had never been to china before.
jimin turned his head to look at the clock that was situated on the bedside table. as he saw how late in the afteroon it was, his eyes widened and he quickly pushed himself to get out of the bed and to get ready.
as soon as he was ready, he grabbed all of his belongings that he would need as well as his id card, which he didn't even know was being made -- which led him on to the question of how on earth did they get that picture of jimin and why didn't they pick a better one? jimin should his head and laughed quietly to himself, walking towards the door of the suite, checking one more time that he had everything he needed before he shut the door, making his way to the lobby in attempt to find someone he recognised. after 5 minutes of wandering about the lobby asking "do you know bts?" in the best english he could, jimin found someone and thanks to them he was on his way to the venue.
once jimin reached the venue, he looked out the car window and his eyes widened as he saw how many people were already there. he bit his lip nervously trying to think of a way to get inside without anyone noticing him. he didn't want any attention to be on him. as jimin continued to look around the car in hopes to find something, he realised that he had brought a face mask and sunglasses and so he put them on, hoping they would help even a little. (even though jimin was probably one of the only, if not the only person there with bright orange hair)
jimin thanked the man and grabbed his stuff, quickly grabbing his id card from his bag and getting out of the car, looking down at the ground as he made his way up to the gates at the back of the venue. as he held his id card up to be scanned, he heard a few people asking each other if it was him or someone else. jimin could feel himself getting anxious as his face began heating up and his hands began getting sweaty but a few seconds later the gates opened and jimin quickly entered, taking a deep breath as he entered the building.
once he was inside, he looked around as he made his way through, his card hanging around his neck to avoid anyone who didn't already know who he was, asking why he was there. he didn't really want to explain that he was yoongi's boyfriend and then answer all the follow up questions that he had experienced hundreds of times before.
after wandering about the building, jimin finally found yoongi standing talking to a member of staff. he quickly scurried up to them, wrapping his arms around yoongi's waist from behind, leaning his head on the elders back.
"uh who are you-- oh jimbles! hi baby, i didn't realise you were here already." yoongi beamed, turning himself around, wrapping his own arms around jimin's shoulders as he looked at his boyfriend with a bright smile. jimin nodded, removing one of his arms to take off his sunglasses and face mask. "yeah, i just got here. there's so many people outside."
"did anyone recognise you?" yoongi asked, moving his hand to jimin's head, rubbing his thumb back and fourth along the latters orange hair. jimin just shrugged since he wasn't really sure if anyone actually did recognise him or not. "ohh okay. have you eaten yet?"
"no, i didn't have time."
"you should have ate breakfast or something, babe but we're getting a break later then we can have lunch together okay?"
jimin nodded and yoongi kissed his lips softly before he had to go back to rehearsing. jimin continued to walk about for a while before he went into the main hall, standing at the side of the empty room, watching the boys doing their rehearsal.
he still couldn't believe that this was his life. if you told jimin a year ago that he would be here watching his favourite idol, who happened to be his boyfriend, he would have laughed and told you that you're crazy. everything still seemed so surreal to him but he was truly grateful for it. he loved yoongi and he couldn't be any more content with his life at that moment.
a while later once they had a break, yoongi came down to jimin, grabbing his hand and leading him out of the room and into another room, not saying anything. jimin looked at him in confusion, wondering if something was wrong but once he looked around the room, he couldn't do anything but smile. there in the middle of the room was a blanket laid out and a basket sat in the middle of it.
"i know we haven't been on many dates and i'm sorry about that. i'm also sorry that i can't really take you anywhere on your first full day of being in china but i thought that maybe we could still have a date here?" jimin could tell yoongi was nervous which made everything one hundred times cuter. "oh my god yooni, that's so cute. you're so cute. i love it."
yoongi nodded and smiled, leading jimin over to the blanket, telling him to sit down as he done the same. jimin sat down in front of him, his smile never leaving from his face. he was both shocked and happy that yoongi done something like this for him, it made him feel special. "i can't get over how cute this is. where did you get the idea from?"
"taehyung helped me. he searched up cute date ideas and indoor picnics was one of them. it was also really handy since we can't really leave."
the two boys began eating and talking about the most random stuff. their picnic date was filled with laughs, smiles and cheesy comments here and there. they couldn't help it, they hadn't seen each other in weeks except through facetime so they were basically just catching up on all the time they missed out on.
"thank you so much for this, hyung. you're really the best. i loved it and i love you."
"and i love you, jimbles. so much."
