Chapter 8

We had meet and greet tickets to Shawn's show, so we arrived early and got into line. It was the first time seeing Shawn since we broke up. I was excited to see my best friend again but I was worried he'd been hiding things behind his laptop screen and had changed.

Brynn and I went into the Meet and Greet separately. She went in first and was going to meet me in our seats which were to the left of the stage. Next thing I knew it was my turn.

Shawn: Oh my God! Jackie?!
Jackie: Surprise!

I walked over and gave him a hug.

Shawn: I'm so happy your here. I'm so much more nervous now though haha.

He clearly was. He was bouncing on his feet and his eyes were darting around the room.

Jackie: You will kill it as always. If you don't believe me, then I'll come to your house after and tell you that again.
Shawn: Yes please come over! Aaliyah will love seeing you again and even my parents have missed having you around. It was hard on them when everything changed and they didn't have you or me or-
Geoff: Shawn, we gotta hurry this along. Your show starts soon and you still have a few more fans.
Shawn: Got it.
Jackie: We can talk after, ok?
Shawn: Okay.
Jackie: Break a leg muffin man.

I found my seat just in time for Charlie Puth to open.

Jackie: I miss the times when we were kids and lived together.
Brynn: Me too girl!
Jackie: We have tonight together though.
Brynn: Ahh I'm so excited! He's gonna kill it!
Jackie: Oh my God me too!!!!

We sang to loud and screamed at the top of our lungs. In the middle of the show, Shawn stopped singing and started talking.

Shawn: I've never felt more nervous in my entire life.

The crowd shouted back at him a million different responses that all reassured him.

Shawn: When it's your hometown, people who have been supporting you from the beginning, all you want to do is show them the best show in the entire world because that's what you deserve.

He's right. He's 100% right. Most of these people here tonight knew who he was before the world did. This included myself. He wanted to give me the best show he could. That's why he was so much more nervous after he saw me.

My mind had been made up.
