My dog, a black shadow in a slumber,
Red-eye tired and having a quick catnap;
Night Time for me is never a bummer.

He is troublesome, always a blunder,
At ten o'clock he is done with the day;
My dog, a black shadow in a slumber.

The bird of waking loses the number
For calling his morning, good thing at night,
Night Time for me is never a bummer.

I cannot walk away; love, not wonder
Keeps me from moving, his little soul pure;
My dog, a black shadow in a slumber.

The morning has not yet heard the rooster
That never fails to call his phone on time;
Night Time for me is never a bummer.

Waking him is a simple encounter,
The rooster never calls until morning,
My dog, a black shadow in a slumber,
Night Time for me is never a bummer.
