~Roses POV~

We all changed and headed down to the lake. As I was about to lay down my towel, I felt hands around my waist and was suddenly picked up.

"AAH! Put me down!"

Aidan laughed evilly and began to count.

"ONE, TWO!"

I was engulfed by water before he got to three. I pushed off the bottom of the lake and felt my head break the top, to see my friends doubled over laughing at my expense. What they didn't notice was that I had come up and I began to swim swiftly and silently over to them.

The evil genius that is me exited the water. They were still busy laughing at my expense and this noise covered the sounds of my footsteps as I snuck up behind Aidan and threw my shoulder against him, smirking at his shocked face as he tripped and hit the water.

This caused my other two friends to spin around wondering, what had caused Aidan to fall. Realizing it was me, they broke out with a new round of laughter, this time directed toward Aidan not me.

"You'll pay for that Weasley!"

"Not if I can help it Finnigan!"

Gwyn yelled as she jumped into the water, doing a cannonball and splashing him.

Right when she hit the water, I shoved Al in after her and then ran and jumped in myself.

"What was that Weasley?"

yelled Aidan, as I had just splashed him and used my magic to accelerate the speed of the water, hitting him full in the face.

"Are you daft or something?
I think it is pretty clear that was water hitting your face that I splashed at you."

I reply quiet sassily to him.

"Oh now it's on Rose! Al, come help me crush your cousin in a water fight!" Aidan yelled over to Al.

"COMING! Anything to crush my dearest cousin."

Al called back. As soon as Gwyn came to the surface, she saw what was happening and quickly swam to my side.

"Now it's two on two. Much more fair!"

she said, while blasting them with water, which forced them to duck under and gave us time to plan our next attack on the boys.

When the boys finally resurfaced, pushing water towards us, a feeling of coldness rushed over me and frozd the water.

I looked over to see Aidan, Gwyn, and Albus frozen in fear staring at something behind me. Turning slowly and drawing my wand from a hidden pocket in my swimsuit, I gulped, already guessing at what would be there when I turned around.

"Guys get to shore and make sure you get your wands before doing anything else. Don't worry about me I'll be fine go get help before anything bad happens."

I saw my friends nod gravely and rush out of the water grabbing their wands and running towards the castle, Gwyn leading the way. Now I was facing the thing, or things, cursing my luck. I knew it would be a dementor when I turned around, but I hadn't guessed to see at least a hundred swooping towards me.

I saw one dive towards me in attempt to perform the dementor's kiss, but I had not yet been drained of energy and swiftly ducked out of the way of the cloaked figure. Beginning to feel the affects the dementor's have on people, I stumbled backwards, feeling like dropping to me knees and sobbing, but I knew crying wouldn't get me anywhere in this mess.

I summoned my strength and screamed for the first time in a long while

"EXPECTO PATRONUM!"

A faint wisp flew from my wand, barely repelling a dementor a foot away from me much less the hundred gathered around me. Two more attempts brought the same wispy result before I switched to the only memory I had left that was strong enough. This memory was the first time us 5 (Gwyn, Al, Aidan, and I) had played a prank on my brother Hugo. It was a memory that made me believe Dumbledore's saying "happiness can be found even in the darkest times. If only one remembers to turn on the light" I summoned all the happiness I had left in me from that one memory and those words and tried one more time.

"EXPECTO PATRONUM!"

I saw a beautiful dolphin burst out of my wand. It wasn't holding back nearly as many dementor's as I hoped and I was starting to panic when I heard a clear loud voice behind me

"EXPECTO PATRONUM"

I then saw an amazing dragon join my dolphin fending off all the dementor's. I breathed a sigh of relief and fell back onto the beach. When I turned to see who it was that had cast the patronus, it was no surprise to see none other than Scorpius Malfoy. He walked quickly towards me and pulled me into a friendly backwards hug. This didn't help with the blush that had already risen in my cheeks. Being so close to him felt wonderful and made my insides twist with butterflies as I tilted my head and stared up at his face. Wow I thought to myself, even at this time I couldn't help but notice his perfect features and stormy eyes.

"Scorpius if you don't mind me asking what thought made you create that powerful of a patronus."

His answer was the one word that made me feel ecstatic and sad at the same time, it consisted of one word.

"You"

he replied right before I slipped into blackness.
